Little Break

Mum has the next couple of days off from work.  She was going to go to Christchurch with her besties for the weekend, it was a holiday that had been planned as a christmas present, and they were looking forward to visiting the southern city.  You might remember that there was a big earthquake in Feb this year there, well the city is still ravaged with much of the central city destroyed and many homes still without sewerage facilities and  repairs five months on.  Well on Monday there were further large aftershocks, which have done more damage.

Then this week, our airspace has been closed off  due to the volcano in Chile.  All that dust has drifted around the world the long way, through Africa, Australia and now over our airspace.  So the flights have been delayed all week, with very few planes flying.

So mum and her besties are going to head out for a couple of days away somewhere closer to home.  Because it is only two nights, a friend of mums is going to come over and open some fancy feast for me, and as it is cold here, mum is happy that I will be nice and cosy curling up on her bed.
