Cleaning out the Closet

Mum found these pictures of me cleaning out the closet, last year.

It is so cold here, I could do with all of those old jackets to keep me warm!

Mum took them all to the Salvation Army shop. We hope the neighbourhood are enjoying mums old warm clothes.
We hope you all help clean out the closets and recycle your old clothes. Most shelters, SPCA, and vets are happy to take old sheets, blankets, towels and old woolly or polarfleece clothes to keep animals warm. Not to wear the jackets/jumpers silly, but to be wrapped up in them after surgery or when in cages.
We have a pile of old worn sheets, and mum is going to take them to the SPCA soon. She should really give up her old pink towels, she has had them since she was 18, and that was ages ago.

  1. How cute those pictures of you are! You look great in red! We wish we had a Salvation Army here! They closed down last year cause they couldn't afford the rent.... Napa CA rent is terrible!

We still have a Dorcas... thrift shop.

  5. That's a lot of good ideas of what to do with stuff you don't really need anymore. There are always people or pets who need help.

  6. We were admiring your pretty face, then it disappeared amongst the jackets. Mum gives all the stuff she doesn't need any more to the charity shops.

  19. Mom's about mid-way in the "cleaning out the closet" project. She's already dropped about 6 big bags off to Goodwill. She still will have her dressers to do once the closet is done.

  21. My Mommie said that at our local cat rescue shelter, for beds many cats use a folded clean towel inside a clean litterbox. They are easier to keep clean than catbeds, because you can just throw the towels into the wash!

  28. Great idea about donating to the animal shelters. I would have never thought of that. I donate most of Dear Son's clothing to organizations that serve mentally or physically handicapped children.
