Confrontation

Mum got a lecture from someone at work today about how they weren't getting the vaccination, how it's all a scam, worse than the Nazis, how it's all a form of control and all about money.  Mum wonders then if they don't believe in science or doctors advice why they were at the hospital in the first place?  Anyway Mum didn't engage with the argument as she knew that was what they were fishing for.  Mum wasn't surprised at the stories - she knows all the excuses.  It was the tone and the arrogance - like they thought they were educating her.

She came home and had a drink tonight.  And gave me cuddles.

  1. We definitely have people that we personally know that refuse to wear a mask or get the vaccination. I got my booster shot on Saturday and I still wear my mask everywhere because our numbers are going up instead of down. A lot of people think it was some type of political hoax. Since people have been dying by the millions I don't think it's much of a hoax.

  2. Those people make me so mad! Did they or their parents have vaccinations for measles, TB, Polio, smallpox etc? How do they think so many deadly diseases have been eradicated or controlled?
A few months ago someone put on someone else's blog that it was a hoax and not to have the vaccine. It got me so mad that I had to tell them what I thought of them. We had just lost a friend to Covid. I did apologise to the blog owner but she thanked me and has barred that person from commenting.

  3. Ugh. There's just so much misinformation, and in this age of social media many/most seem to have lost the ability to reason for themselves. My aunt is very anti-vacc and when she and I chat (not often) she'll often spout stuff she's been told. I don't engage in an argument, but I do ask her if she knows for certain that what she's telling me is true and I always suggest she do her own research from legit sources (which she doesn't bother to do, of course). It's people like this that are drawing this out, IMO. Honestly, I can't understand how people can think it's a political hoax -- factions of any country's government can't agree on domestic issues; the thought that all governments, globally, could get together and manufacture this as a hoax is beyond absurd. I'm not surprised your mum came home and had something to drink, I would have too!

    Hugs!

  5. I love how people compare having to get a vaccination to Nazi excesses. They believe that having to be vaccinated is as bad as millions of people being murdered. Need anything more be said about them?

  7. Good for her. And I bet she enjoyed the drink and the cuddle. I just don’t understand some people. There is one up North who got through the barrier and went who knows where. He or she won’t open their mouth so all the people who were near him can’t be traced. That is someone who needs to be locked up and the key thrown away.
