Toesie Thursday

Mum and i got to spend the day together today as she got called in overnight.  Her first job got her home at 3am, so when the phone went again at 04:45am she fell asleep for a few minutes.  When she got up and went to work, she worried that she had actually dreamed the phone call.  Luckily when she got to work, the doctor was there and there was a patient to be seen to.  That job finished around 6:15 am, so she slept a bit of the morning and then again later in the afternoon.

Luckily there was a lot of dinner made last night so she just had leftovers for her dinner, and I was easy just having a feast.  We have snuggled this evening, and mum has no call tonight, although she is working at the weekend and on call again.  She has figured out that in this fortnight she is working about 90 hours at work and over 110 hours on call, so she is pacing herself.  Next week will be easier.

Toesie Tuesday

Mum got home today and the builders have finished - yippeee!!  They were especially noisy today, so she took off and spent the afternoon at the library and read one book, and got started on the next so she felt better that she had some time out and a walk in the sunshine.  Me - well I have been hiding, and hiding so well that mum has to search hi and low when she gets home and is not sure which neighbors I am at.  She hopes that I am able to settle down a bit more now that things should return to normal - at least for a while.  First the scaffolding has to come down, and at some stage the windows will have to be installed, but we are sure that will be a couple of months away.

Mum loves my little big feet.  I am a good girl and have only scratched her once or twice when she has picked me up, but am very good with my sharp claws and try not cling onto her.  Mum has never cut my claws, as I am an inside outside cat I can scratch trees and wood outside.  Also it is not something that kiwi cats get done, none that we know of anyways.

How are you doing fans?  Mum and I had a good day.  She had a lousy nights sleep though, as she was on call but didn't get called in, which didn't stop her waking up every hour til finally at 5am she lay in the dark til 7am.

Mum worked all day, which went smoothly and was good company which made the day go smoothly.  Then mum went for a walk to the library and stopped in at the supermarket to get an easy microwave dinner.  Mum was not in the mood for cooking, so easy was good.  I had a fancy feast and then we did some relaxing.  Although mum says doing chores like dishes and washes is not quite as relaxing as my sleeping, she did take it easy.

So hope you get to get some relaxing done today too.

The clouds and wind have gathered again tonight.  Mum worked all day, then went for a walk and headed off to the library and the supermarket.  She made some mild  chilli mince for the niece and her for dinner (miss doesn't like super spicy).  It worked well and mum has lots left for dinner tomorrow.

Girls have been binge watching Modern Family - they have been laughing all night.

It has been a great day for hanging at home today as the rain is pouring outside.  Mums sister in law and big uncle are in town, but they are not staying with us.  They have come to town to help our lovely niece move home for the holidays.  We are a bit sad as she is not coming back to university in our town next year, and mum will miss her lots.  The best bit is that she is coming to stay with us nest week for a little visit.  Yippee!

So mum and the family got to go out and share a meal together which was nice as it was big uncles birthday.  Happy birthday big Uncle - we wish you a good year and hope you have health and wealth and lots of time to share with your family and friends.

Not much to report here at Chez Q.  Mum has had a good long sleep and is not feeling quite so dizzy today.  She had some of her handmade soup for lunch, and has been taking it easy.  We're planning an early night tonight, so that mum can head beack to work in the morning.  Mum will be glad when sick week is over and she can get busy again.

Toesies Tuesday - The Literary Edition

The other night, I helped my mum with her reading. She liked this book, it was called Homer's Odyssey by Gwen Cooper. Gwen already has two cats when her vet asks her if she would take on a little kitten that she is looking after, who through a bad eye infection had to have both eyes removed.

We enjoyed this book a lot, and we think that if you liked Dewey, you would like this one.

Licking my toes takes time.

It has been quiet around the Q house, we have been going to bed earlish for us, and mum has been pulling my fleecie blankie up around her shoulders. We awoke to lots of rain this morning, and it looks frosty tonight. Mum is always grateful that she was born when she was and not two hundred years ago. How cold must her great great grandparents have been in winter?

Thanks to all of my furiends who have offered to share their hots - you guys are sweet.

Oh and good luck to our All Whites Football team, who play Slovakia in about an hour. Apparently our team is in the "Pool of death". So they better enjoy this game!!
