Rudely Awoken

Luckily we went to bed early last night. Mum read a little bit and turned her light out 1t 9.30pm. Usually she does this at midnight, so for her it was early, especially as she was on call for the hospital.

We weren't woken by the phone ringing, but by big booms of thunder, lightening and hail at 6am!! Who needs an alarm clock? Mum says my furs were a bit wet when she touched me, so she knew I had snuck out for a pee before the storm struck. I was good and didn't run away and hide, but stuck my head out the curtains to look through the closed window.

The storm passed after 20 minutes, and we could go back to sleep as mum is on an afternoon shift today.

We hope all the storms pass you by wherever you are.

  6. You are brave, Poppy! I'm behind the shower curtain at the first clap of thunder.

  7. Snuck out for a pee? Does this mean you have a "doggy" door? Glad the storm passed and you were both safe.

  11. I think thunderstorms in the morning are always a bit scary - we almost always have them in the evening here. (The cats do NOT like them when they are loud.)

  12. Poppy, you are very brave! I would have hidden as long as I could. It sounds like things have been a bit crazy in Wellington. Mum was talking to her mum the other day, and there was a great big bang when a gust of wind hit the house. Her mum was shaking from the fright.
