Queen of the Bed
As you can see, I am back to being the Queen of the bed. It is mine!! All mine!!!
Well - I guess you can share it a little bit, as long as you put the electric blanket on and my fleece blankies on top.
Just make sure you vacate the bed by eight, and no sneaking back in for a sleep in.

Hanging Out For the Weekend

Washing
Distraction
Mum got distracted tonight eating toast in front of the tv and forgot to post before midnight. She had a busy day. I helped her with chores like washing and moving stuff around. Then she went to the hairdresser, met her friends, had dinner and went to the movies, got some groceries and then finally came home to feed me.

Eye
I hope you and your family all have a lovely weekend. Do something fun. Get out in the sun, meet some friends, watch a movie, eat some great food, sing some songs, walk in the wind, or lie in bed and take it easy.
We will try and do all those things - or at least my mum will. Me - I'll be keeping an eye on the house, and on the bedroom.

Fleas
Mum wanted to talk to you all about the dreaded fleas. For about the past 5 months mum had been using Frontline plus to try and get rid of any fleas. But, they still kept coming and coming and even with attacks with the flea comb, they were still there. The vet, although very nice said just to continue with the frontline. Now mum did all the right things, dosed me at the right times, bought it from the vet, checked the expiry date and kept washing and vacuming.
Well two weeks ago, mum got bitten and she could tell I was still miserable. So she went out and bought revolution flea treatment. Although I don't like it being put on, and sulked for a day, mum thinks it less toxic than Frontline. When I had frontline I was miserable for a few days, and mum thinks my furs were dull and flaky (which may have been more due to the fleas).
So around about the time, I got the revolution, I moved back inside. I lost all of my fleas, my furs are more soft and shiny, and mum says I am much much happier and back to being my old self. I want more cuddles and smooches and am much more talkative. I am seeking mum company more, and am happy that I am indoor Poppy and not camping cat.
So if you are looking for flea treatments, mum is very very happy to recommed Revolution and she will never use Frontline Plus ever again. We have looked online too, and at a few forums have found similar concerns from other customers. As frontline, has no email contact details we are unable to contact them with our concerns, but we will be sure to let our vet know.

New Camera - Saturday shoot session
Mum took these pictures this afternoon in the backyard using the zoom. She is pretty impressed as it shows my amber eyes. I don't like looking at the camera though, so mum has to take lots and lots of shots, most of them with me looking away.
She thinks they look pretty snazzy though. What do you think?

Small Pleasures
Things that made mum happy:
- Camping cat slept the night on the couch on her bathmat (that would be me).
- The storm passed us by, and we didn't get any damage. One of our friends got a busted window but everybody was ok.
- The new camera seems to be working out fine.
- Mum has got some yummy steak for her tea, with coleslaw and baked potato and then some fresh pineapple.
- She has a dvd to watch tonight.
- The washing is all dried and folded.
- Mum got to go for a big long walk, looked at some shops and bought all the weekend groceries this afternoon.
We hope your mums and dads got to do some fun things too. Nice things to make their weekend happier.
Smooches from camping cat and mum.

Look at what the storm dragged in
Why yes, mum believes that is camping cat sleeping on the couch. Of course I had to get my mum to put the clean bathmat down, as I like to sleep on it. We had a big thunder boomy storm this afternoon, and when mum got home I was inside!!! I meowed real loud and told her all about it and she gave me my dinner, and then I hopped on her lap for lots of cuddles.

Learning
Mum is learning about her new camera, but she liked this candid shot of me.
We have a little point and shoot Olympus, which was often slow, zoomed in shots were blurry, the image stabilization shots were a bit rubbish, and overall it was not a high quality camera.
Mum looked at getting a fancy pants DSL camera, but in reality mum knew that she would never carry around such a large beast, and all the lenses and flashes and stuff are really expensive here.
So she is so far quite pleased with our new camera. It is light weight, has a built in flash, takes movies which you can zoom in and out of, the zoom is fabulous and it takes fast photos. The macro is good too, and you can set it on auto or use lots of the manual settings. The 12mp pictures take a bit longer to load onto blogger, and mum may have to change some settings to speed that up (we have slow slow broadband here). Mum has a lot of work to do to learn about all the camera settings (and photoshop), and we will let you know more as we go along.
This camera has good write ups and is on sale on Amazon at the moment, so if you are looking for a change, now could be a good time!!
By the way, have you looked at Pioneer Woman lately? She is having a cat photo competition and some of the pictures are fantastic. You can find them here: http://thepioneerwoman.com/photography/

Cuddle Part Deux
I gave my mum a cuddle again last night, but alas no cuddles tonight. She is so tired after working that she can't keep her eys open any longer. So, she thought all the cuddles deserved a baby photo of me, my first week home and I am snuggled on her bed.
Don't forget, we have a competition to win a copy of Pet magazine, where I am mentioned in one of the two articles that my friend Misha wrote. I will send it anywhere in the world. Just leave a comment on Tuesdays post, and I will enter you in.
Smooches to you all and good luck!!

Busy
It's been a busy day here on the street. It is rubbish day, and as the sun is out all day and hot, everything is very stinky. Perfect for a nosy grey cat and all my feline neighbours.
Don't forget to enter my competition to win a copy of Pet Magazine, where my mum is interviewed and Misha gets to write two articles. You can leave a comment on Tuesdays post to enter.

Quiet Wordy Wednesday
Our house seems quiet tonight, as Gdad has gone home from his holiday with us. We think he had a good break. He got to see his first 3D movie at the Pompei exhibition at the museum, got 3rd degree sunburn walking around the harbour with mum, scraped all the scaly stuff off the bottom of mums loo with the garden tools and best of all, mum gave him computer lessons. Because of the computer lessons about the internet - Gdad got to learn about the Internet Time Suck. Where all of a sudden, you look at the clock and realize that you have been on youtube or google for two hours.
Today, as it was very hot after work, mum gave me some cold milk in a little bowl outside. It appears I am not lactose intolerant, and seeing as I don't eat any people food mum didn't think I would like milk. But I did like it, so mum says maybe I can have some occasionally.
