It has been muggy and a bit drizzly today, so it was a late start for mums day off today.  It is satisfying for mum to finish a book and return them to the library and pick up the next couple to read.  A few groceries, so expensive now. Every few things are suddenly $100, which seem to not do many meals.  Still mum made a hearty thai chicken curry that she bulked up with broccoli and peas and will last a few meals now.

It seens we have a hedgehog in our back garden and mum is leaving him some grapes and broccoli leftovers to see if he will eat them overnight.

  1. Poppy, you look so sweet there, curled up. ♥

The cost of groceries is absurd and disgusting, IMO. I can't see any justification for the CONSTANT, huge jump in prices, other than greed. I know corporations are all about the bottom line (profit), but gees....!

I hope your hedgehog eats the treats; s/he must be so adorable.

  2. Books, books, books. I too can not get enough reading it seems. Our 5 days of rain ended Thursday morn and we are to have warmth and sun. I feel it already. The mowers just left and the grass smells so good. Eat well, all food is just so expensive. I don't like to give up the good kind, so I try to extend the meat too.

  3. When it's reported that inflation is causing prices to rise fourteen per cent but they go up by forty or fifty per cent, that is simple greed. If people with adequate (if not high) incomes are finding the purchase of food and the paying of rent troubling, how can genuinely poor people cope?

But the hedgehog will receive a bit of free food tonight, I hope...
