Mum and I got a nice sleep in today and after a cool autumn data on Caturday, the sun was shining. Mum gave me a few snuggles and then she went and took herself out for a walk into town
She had misplaced one if her favorite necklaces, and found another one in the shop. And best of all it was reduced from a whopping $19 to $12 - bargain.
So the usual places were visited, the library to return some books and the supermarket to replenish supplies. Then a quick bus ride home to cook dinner. I had a feast and then mum cooked up some parmesan fries, sausages with broccoli and carrots. She was also organized and boiled some eggs for her lunch tomorrow.
Time to put our feet and paws up.

Sleepy Sunday
Getting the spare bed put together last week was quite the ordeal. Mum had a footstool, the washing basket and some spare bags holding bits of the frame up while she screwed it together. Luckily the whole thing stayed together. As you can see I am very helpful at snoopervising and making sure she did an ok job.
Mum had an uber busy night last night, and had to do four call ins to work overnight, so she is a bit exhausted today. Especially as it was daylight savings here, and mum had to do an extra hour of call overnight. One more night of call to get through and then she will almost back to a normal sleeping week, although she is on call next weekend as well. So for us an afternoon nap was in order.
She did try something new today. She read this article about using conditioner before shampooing her hair, and thought she would give it a go. She was pleasantly surprised, as her dry difficult to manage hair feels soft and fuller than normal. We know it isn't rocket science, but it is nice to do something that actually works. Never too old to learn new tricks.
So we better go, mum has to switch the on-call phone back on and get ready for another busy night.
Hope you have all had a relaxing Sunday and got your snooze on.

Sleepy Sunday
Hope you caught up on your ZZZZs this sleepy Sunday. Mum and I had a lovely sleep in. She got up and had eggs on toast, and then met a bestie. They ventured out to the suburbs to have a wander around a large mall, which mum usually only does once a year. Lots and lots of sameness there, same funny coloured clothes which seemed pricey for what they were, and lots of shops selling the same junky stuff, none of which enticed mum to part with any dollars. She said though that it was great people watching, and a good stretch of the legs.
So we are spending our evening relaxing and taking it easy here. Hope you are all doing the same and recharging for the week ahead.

Sleepy Sunday
A lot of Sunday was spent like this. The tail end of the downgraded cyclone hit us this afternoon, with steady rain since 4pm and the wind is picking up now. A lot of it missed our city, but other towns are being pummelled tonight. Mum managed to clear a lot of space on the DVR and had a lovely sleep in. I got my feast at 6pm and was in bed by half past ready for my post digestion snooze.
We have enjoyed having a quiet weekend, a time to relax and catch up on some rest. Hope your Sunday is just as restful.

Sleepy Sunday
Our friend Kim asked about Laundromats. There are a couple in the city we think (but too far away from where we live), but everybody in NZ has their own washing machines at home. We were a bit spoilt having a washing machine and dryer at our last house and mum got very used to it. Our weather is quite mild here so it can dry outside on the line six months of the year, and have to be on a drying rack inside in the winter.
With the windows wide open I did a bit of snoozing around the house in various spots. I do like mums bed at the moment, it is where I am snoozing as the secretary writes this post for me. I had my dinner just after 6pm and went to bed at 6.20pm. It is now 10:50pm and I am still in the same spot.
So the mumster is going to watch the end of the Walking Dead, then pop herself into bed to read for a while. She doesn't have to go to work in the morning, so can have a late night with a bit of a sleep in.
We can feel the seasons beginning to slip and change lately. It has been getting darker a bit earlier and mum has been pulling the slippers out more and more. We know though that we will be due for more sunshine before the summer is truly over.
Enjoy your Sunday - hope you all had plenty of chances for a snooze or two.

Sleepy Sunday
Ohhhhhh today it is a good day to take it easy. The mumster went out for a walk today. She'd run low on olive oil, so made a trip to the market to get some. She looked at a few shops but tried to resist, but came home with a couple of wee treats. It is blustery and blowy here, so it was a good day to spend the afternoon inside. Pork chop with roasty potatoes and carrots were a nice dinner for her - feast filled the gap for me.
Hope you all get to take it easy today as well.

Snoozy Sunday
After yesterdays blowfest here in Wellington, the wind and clouds had gone, so I was able to get some snoozing done outside. Mum let the doors open and aired the house. She had important jobs, like painting her toenails blue and reading her book - awesome!!!!
The hotness was almost too much for mum, so she headed to town to meet a bestie to see Life of Pi. She said it was worthy of a 4/5 and it was worth seeing in 3D, as it was a beautiful thing to see. She hadn't read the book, but knew what the story was about. Then mum and her bestie went and feasted by having a dinner sitting beside the sea, a lovely way to spend a Sunday evening.
After a chat to the family and Gdad, mum is on the couch watching the Downton Abbey Christmas special, which in usual NZ form is playing several weeks post Christmas. Lucky old us too as we have tomorrow off work and another day of relaxing together.
Enjoy your Sleepy Sunday.

Sleepy Sunday
Today I got a bit of snoozing done. Tonight is mums third and last night on call, so she is ready for a decents night sleep on Monday. It has made me very tired.
We can't believe how close it is getting to Christmas. Mum has put out our decorations and the lounge looks cosy and festive with the lights up. We only have a small fake tree, which I am not interested in at all. Mum is most looking forward to having a break from work and being able to relax at home with me.

Sleepy Sunday
We tried to go to bed early on Saturday night = hello thunder storm that woke us up all night with crazy thunder booms and big winds. It sounded like our whole house was ready to take off into space.
Even though it was really dark at 7am, mum got up and went with her besties to a craft fair. It is usually held on the first weekend of December every year, which is the first weekend of summer. No one ever tells the weather gods though, mum thinks it has been at least seven years since it has been warm or sunny on Thorndon fair day. Mum did manage to buy some stuff though.
The weather has calmed down now, so mum has made chicken wraps for dinner, and picked up some of the leaves that fell down in the wind last night. Hopefully tonight we can catch up on our snoozes.

Sleepy Sunday
Today was a good day for snoozing. Mum went out to visit friends for a lovely beachside lunch at their house. It was good for her to get out, more time for me to sleep. Then she came home and we had a four hours nap!!! Now we are taking it easy, preparing for a big night of sleeps.

Betterer
The weather is betterer today. It was cold, windy and rainy yesterday and everybody person was wearing gloves, scarves, coats and hats. Luckily for me, I has a built in fur coat. I huddled in front of the heater or on my mums bed.
So mum is off to soak up some vitamins Ds on a walk, and to get the groceries for a tasty tea. She thinks she will make a spicy mince and eggplant and maybe bake a caramel slice so she has some treaties to take to work this week.
Enjoy your Sunday!!

Sleepy Sunday
Might as well sleep outside while the weather is still mild. Yesterday can only be described as GLORIOUS, it was so sunny and warm that we don't mind it being cloudy today. I have had to have lots of snoozes today as I was up til 4am, when mum came home from her last job at the hospital. I was still outside on the street playing, and she told me off and said it was time for bed. I still didn't come in til 5am - norty huh!!!
Sweet Sunday snoozing everybuddy.

Sleepy Sunday
Mum took this picture last week when it was shining. Today we have had more lashings of rain and thunder and only about 15C temps - exciting!! So I am curled up on the dresser dreaming the day away.
Mum is glad she mowed the lawn last night, and today she has been productive cleaning up the spare room and getting rid of the box city that was living in there. Cos it's a home day, mum is giving her hair a break from the hairdryer and straighteners, and no make up, just casual all the way. She hopes her neighbours don't laugh when she takes the wheelie bin out for collection tonight. She's not really worried, as they'll all be tucked up on their couches watching the tv keeping warm.

Quiets
After all of mums goings out this weekend, she thought it was prudent to not spend a cent today and to stay at home with me. We caught a little bits of sunshine, and mum and I were lazy, having a sleep in and a couple of naps today. Just taking it easy on Sleepy Sunday.

Sleepy Sunday
Today was a great day to have a little snoozathon. Mum went to a local craft fair, which was chaotic even by 10am. She got to buy a few christmas presents, and a few for herself.
She bought an old old iron to use as a doorstop. One of the ones great grandma would have heated up on the coal range, and used to singe her clothes. Mum thought it would put her back out carring it home, as it weighed a hefty 6.8 kgs (15 pounds).
We hope you all had a productive weekend too.
