Friday Fit Club

Thanks for all the comments about my svelte figure, it sure was nice of you all. As you can see I am not Harry Houdini, I was trapped in my PTU.
However, the vet was just reminding me that I should be 5.5 kg, not 6 and we thought that 6 months to drop 10% was a good goal.
Mum says thanks to the mums who thought they might join in with her, too. She is too much of a lady to talk about her or anyones weight on here, but she has come up with a plan.
She has pulled out the scales and measured up. Every Friday will be time for Fit Club, and she will tell you if the scales have gone down, and pass on any tips or words of wisdom. The goal is to drop 10% by April. That's six months and totally doable.
So in honour of starting, she is going to head out into the sunshines and go for a walk!
Have a lovely weekend everybuddy!!

  1. What a great plan! I don't need to lose, but I sure could do with some fitness...I'll walk 3-4 times a week in solidarity!

  2. Hey Pops! As a mancat of a sprightly 7.08kg who has been known in the past to tickle the 8kg marker, I understand the challenges you are facing! It's totally worth it though. I am a bouncy table jumper now, when I always used to go via the chair. The Cat Dancer is a really good toy to get a tabby cat racing around with not a lot of effort from a mum, so I get my exercise time in when mum is watching tv.

Our mum says that Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred dvd is a good way to get things a moving, if you're ok with feeling like you're being tortured and will never breathe again especially at the beginning. After 3 months of pre-wedding booty shaking, mum has tightened up the bingo wings!

  3. Good luck to you Poppy Q. The Woman needs to loose a whole lot of weight so I think she'll have to work a bit harder than anyone else in the house!

  6. Cool, we will keep checking you every Friday.. Beware !!! : )
Actually, my weight is 6.4 kg but my doctor said I'm purrfect, may be because my breed can weight more so I don't need to diet but my mom still stuck to limiting my food..No meat in the morning because the doctor said Meat in the morning can give me Cat Diabetic in the future.
My morning meal is just dried food and the dinner is the fine meat + dried food.
And my mom keep me exercise every night by playing ball with me ( She throw and I have to run to catch the ball ) or play mousy ( my dad attached string at mouse's tail and mom will drag it, and I run to catch it )

  7. I don't think you are all that overweight, Poppy! I am underweight - I weigh just a hair less than 6 lbs. (not kg), but I am a very little cat.

I think the Fit Club is a great idea! Even if you don't need to lose weight, it can serve as a reminder to do something healthy - exercise or eat right. My human doesn't need to lose weight and she exercises already, but she could sure eat a lot better than she does!

  11. Good luck to you both! Derry and our mom need to lose weight...in the mom's case, oh, about 20% of her current weight! In her defense, she's hypo-thryoid now (underactive) and is trying to sort out proper med dose. The weight has nothing to do with all the carbs and sweets she eats, she swears!

They don;t like me being on a diet as they say they don't want to eat diet food. It was quite the revolt!

So I'm gonna need Friday Fit club.

Walk did you say - oh my!

Will start after the strawberry fair as they have cream & ice cream at the fair....

    Love Leanne
