Resting

Today was a great day for resting  as the wind was whipping  the rain around outside and mum had to go off to work.  It was  dark when she left and dark on the way home.  Mum poured herself a large vodka and lemonade  and watched the news, happy knowing that she has a day off tomorrow.

She had been wanting  to try a new recipe and tonight  was the night.  She made a lime and coriander rice and a chicken saagwala  curry.  It is not too spicy and has onions, tomatoes and spinich made up into a tasty sauce.  Mum liked it a lot and finds it a good  way to get all of her veg in one serving.  She did not take a photo as the curry although delicious resembles baby pooh.

Mum has used almost managed  to use up almost every dish and utensil  in the kitchen.  She also broke a blue mixing bowl that she likes to use, and is unable  to replace as they were made over 30 years ago.  It is amazing how glass shatters after falling onto kitchen tiles.  So she spent the remaining  part of the evening  hoovering  the kitchen .  Lucky  mum.

Resting

I have been helping  mum to rest and she is feeling  much better with the cough finally beginning to recede.  It has been raining heavily since Fridsy and is much cooler than the weather we had earlier  in the month.   Ideal weather  for sitting  and watching the box.

Last night she watched Jojo Rabbit which was good, but mum is not sure that she was comfortable in the satirical  tone of the movie.  She loves Taika Waititi usually but found that it relied too heavily on too many stereotypical caricatures of many of the supporting characters.  Maybe she will have to watch it again when she is less distracted by the current issues occurring in the world.

Jurassic World - Fallen Kingdom  is on the television  tonight.  So mum is settling  down with a big vodka and orange juice (mums drink is about 1% vodka).  Me - mom let's me have 4 temptations.

Resting

Mum got a bit of a shock last night.  She had taken her cold night medication and was in the bathroom before bed when she heard her phone ring.  By the time she got out to it it had stopped.  2 minutes later it rung again, and she answered to find out that she was needed to go into work.  She had rung in sick for the day, but they had got busy and forgot to find someone to cover her on call.

Luckily she only had a quick couple of visits and gloved up and put a mask on so that she did not pass any germs onto anyone.  Today she got to rest though, and I got to snuggle with her.  It was only a mild 10 C degrees today, and so it was a good day for us girls to relax.  Mums body is fighting the germs,  so many drinks and soup - all goodness and lots of vitamin C.  So hopefully tonight she can get a good nights sleep.

Resting

Mum went to work until midday today but came home at lunch time.
I am helping her to rest - it is good that I am an experienced rester and can help her relax.

Resting

With all the rain it is best for me to stay inside and rest.  We do live pretty far up a hill in a hilly city, so our place is unlikely to flood.   For mum she just gets a bit soaked going to and from work but this year she bought a new longer raincoat.   On bad days she can walk half way then take a bus which is good too.

Resting

I got lots of rest today, which is good for me.  These times of mega stress for mum make her eating and sleeping a bit hard.  She is on call too, so that does not help.

Hope you all had a lovely Sunday and got lots of snoozing done.

Resting

In my stocking I got my mousie, a new collar, some greenies and kiwicats catnip which is grown here in Wellington and is great!! In fact I played so hard with my new presents that today has been very quiet, and me and mum have had a real easy day.
Hope you are all relaxing and taking it easy.
