Your Blog is a Dream Award

My two gingerlicious boys Eric & Flynn gave me this Your blog is a dream award. And they called me beautiful - blushing now. The rules are you have to list seven beauty secrets, and then pass the award on. They did such a super job, I didn't know if I could add anything, but I am going to try.

1. Remember to keep yourself smelling nice. I am scared of my big uncle, but I LOVED his hat. It smelled of big uncles head, and if you have met him you know it is big, hairy and smelly!! (we love you big uncle - truly).

2. If you find a colour that suits you, wear it with pride.

3. Remember that 23.5 hours of sleep in a day, keeps a cat looking young.

4. Keep your furs clean and tidy and allow your beans to brush you, even if it is with the garden outdoors brush, it should still feel nice.

5. Relax and enjoy breakfast in bed once in a while.

6. Soak in the sunbeams as much as you can, winter is long and you will miss them when they are gone.

7. Remember, it is all about BALANCE. Be happy, do something fun every day, life is short and remember to stop and smell the flowers too.

Is this the Missing cats bureau?

Police reckon something fishy is going on at their Lower Hutt headquarters.

For the second time in six weeks, a lost cat has simply wandered off the street and into the station.

After eight-month-old Jack left his Lower Hutt home on Wednesday, his owner hoped he would soon return. But he spent two days on the run, eventually strolling up to the front counter at the Lower Hutt police station about 7am yesterday 3 kilometres from home.
"We just heard this really loud crying sound. He was quite distressed when he walked in," police area commander Inspector Richard Chambers said.

A staff member went to the supermarket to get some food and milk for the cat, then found him a place to grab some much-needed sleep.
"Once he relaxed and had some food, he was very friendly. There were about six of us who wanted to take him home."

But no adoption was needed. An SPCA microchip implanted in Jack's neck when he was a kitten helped police and the SPCA reunite him with his owner a few hours later.

Tracy Dear said her three children had been in Hawke's Bay for the school holidays and did not know Jack had done a runner.
"I am very pleased he returned, otherwise I would have had three very upset children.

"It's not the first time he has gone missing. If he is home alone he often gets bored and goes looking for company."

In June, a two-year-old cat set out from his Mt Cook home in Wellington and spent two weeks making his way 20km north to eventually stroll into Lower Hutt police station.

Mr Chambers had no idea why cats seemed to be attracted to the station, but he would stock up on cat food in case there were more visitors. "We also might have to check there is no fish hidden somewhere in the station."

Earthquake

Last night there was a BIG earthquake in New Zealand. It was the biggest we have had in 78 years and was 7.8 on the richter scale, which is HUGE. But, it was in a very isolated area a long ways from where we live. So this is what I was doing while it was happening. Mum was at work and didn't feel a thing, although some folks in our city said they felt it.


See it is down the bottom of the south Island in New Zealand, and we live at the bottom of the north Island (very imaginative names for our country: North and South Islands).

Our earthquake was as big as one in China that killed 68,000 people!! However there have been no reported injuries here, as that part of New Zealand is pretty uninhabited.

Our news tonight, said that we have 14,000 earthquakes a year in New Zealand, most of which we don't feel, so we are used to them.

How many is too many cushions?

Yes the new duvet does almost match my furs. Because it was on sale, mum was able to get the nice silver cushion cheap too. She likes cushions, and I think may have a few too many. What things do your parents have too many of? We'd love to know.

Wordless Wednesday

New Duvet

Mums new duvet cover got my seal of approval.


She spent at least an hour in the shop on Saturday choosing. It is not often they are on sale and sometimes it is super hard to find one that she will like, and I will like to sleep on.

Yes Gandalf, Grayson and Whitey, we have two duvets on the bed, and a quilt and a big mink fleece blanket. Our house is old and wooden and cold in winter, so we need lots of things to snuggle under. Well mum snuggles under, I am a topcat as I sleep on top of the covers.

When I helps my mum make the bed, I like to slide between her two duvets.

This makes a little tent for me to hide in.

I wish she would leave the camera behind though.

Weekend

Today is the weekend, but my mum had to go to work. She still managed to get some washing done, and the dishes. Ohhhhhhhhh and my fave thing, changing the sheets, and then the duvets. Duvets are hard work, but mum loves to climb under the clean bedding on a Saturday night.

Mum did a few big photo shoots during the week, so if you see lots of photos that look like they were taken on the same day, they probably were. Mum says this one shows my happy tail. It is hard for her to get a picture of me looking at the flashy box, as I likes to look away from it, as it is sooo annoying. That is why she reckons she has to take lots of snapshots.

My Friday Friend

My Friday Friend is back!! That's right, some of these Fridays we want to introduce you to a new friend we have met blogging. We have noticed that some bloggers have retired, and new ones are popping up all over the place.

Our new friend Jill lives at http://justmejill.blogspot.com/, and comes from Wichita, KS in the US. She is a mom, and lives with her hubby, kids, cats and a woofie. She paints these fabulous pictures, which you can buy off Ebay, and finds time to help rescue cats and dogs locally.

Payday

Today is mums payday. So she stocked up on the fancy feast for me. Our country is full of the swine flu at the moment, and mum is scared that she might get sick and not have enough cat food or toilet paper. There is enough chocolate, mum has a stash specially hidden.

Mum got the wee sniffles back this morning, and hopes that it gets better overnight, as cold and flus are sneaky like that. Poorly one day, fine the next.

I am always sleeping

We got lots more sleep last night, thanks for purring for us. As you can see the fleece is pulled up, cause it is brass monkeys weather again. The tv is rubbish tonight, I think the choice is between Axmen and reruns, so mum will be heating up the bed early and turning in with her book.

A Restless Night

Last night, mum tossed and turned and only went to sleep at about 2am. Which is hard when she had to wake up at 6.30 am.


That is why I look rough, and put myself to sleep at 7pm as I am exhausted. No night patrols night, just a good 11 hour catnap.

Mum won't be far from bed either. She is just going to do the dishes and get her stuff ready for tomorrow.

Ray of Light

You can see the tiny ray of light that has come onto the spare room bed. This means the sun is slowly moving around. Of course it is not very warm at all, but soon the rays will get bigger and warmer. Mum is now hoping that she will finally get some sun on her washing line out the back. Might be a few weeks away mum.

We hope you made your beans go outside and get some vitamin D wherever they live this weekend, and make sure they wear their sunblock.

Did you guess right?

This is my bird!! I caught him! Now he is deaded though.

Mum says thank you for putting the dead bird on the bed beside her while she was sleeping. It was a lovely present, and I got a pat on the head and told I was a good girl.

Then she scooped him up on the dustpan and flung him over the neighbours fence, sorry neighbours!!

What a waste! That was one tasty looking bird - I tell you!!

Friday Surprise - Can you guess?

The other night, my mum went to bed to read her book. That means she spent one minute reading and then she went snoozing. So I decided to bring her a present, on her bed, just for her?

Bed Positions

This is the number TWO sleeping position. At the foot of the bed, hanging on by a few claws in case her majesty kicks me accidently off the bed.


This is the favoured number ONE bed position, as close to the pillows as possible.

Sadly it is usually only vacant between the hours of 8am and 10pm.

Then it is mine, all mine!!
