That is what they are calling it on the news - The Big Chill. Christchurch has snow right down to sea level, with snow on the beaches and the most snow the country has seen in twenty years. On the news, some said it was the most snow in their area in the past eighty years. Snow is only on the high hills here in Wellington, and we have just below freezing temperatures.
We know many of our fine friends live in areas where you are buried in snow - for weeks on end during the winter. Wow - we don't know how you do it. We like our normally warm temperate climate. Still we are lucky, as we have two good heaters to keep us cosy and warm.
Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too cold!!
ReplyDeleteoh Poppy darling girl...stay warm and cozy. It will be summer again in a few months...being cold is no fun at all....bury yourself under the warm blankets and cuddle with your dear mommy!
ReplyDeleteLove Miss Peach
Okay, even though we're going through a heat wave right now, the thought of so much snow makes my skin crawl!
ReplyDeleteStay warm Poppy and we will stay cool. Hugs Deb=^..^=x4
ReplyDeletePoppy, My uncle live in Christchurch !!!! and he have cats !!! They must walk in the snow now but they are long fur, should be o.k.
ReplyDeleteYou stay warm, Poppy
and Have a lovely day
Stay cosy Poppy!
ReplyDeleteWE can symatphize with you Poppy. We are from snow country, but at least we are equipped to deal with the snow and cold. Those of you who live in more temperate climates feel the cold and extreme weather conditions much more then we hearty northerners do. Stay warm and safe.
ReplyDeleteOur g-ma and g-dad are shaking in their boots, too. Stay warm, Pops and mum Q!
ReplyDeleteMore like buried under snow for MONTHS on end, not weeks. LOL.
ReplyDeleteBut it's all what you're accustomed to, and what you're prepared for. We have a furnace and the mom has lots of winter clothing and gear. We're glad you at least have two heaters and hope you're able to stay warm with those!
Stay warm! You know I haven't gotten to say that for awhile!
ReplyDeleteGlad to read you are nice and warm. We were in a dusting of snow yesterday while in Otaki - it was rather wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing! We hope you stay warm!
ReplyDeleteWell, it's sort of consoling to know that the weather is crazy all over the world. You and your Mum stay warm, Poppy!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are staying warm, Poppy!
ReplyDeleteStay warm, pretty Poppy!
ReplyDeleteSo hard to imagine as we are stuck in the worst heat wave in years! Stay warm dear Poppy! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThe bed's the best place, Poppy!
ReplyDeleteStay warm.

Oh wow! That is amazing and a bummer. Mom is psyched because it is a lovely 63 degrees out. Nice and cool after our lovely heat wave.
ReplyDeleteStay inside and stay warm.
Roxy
I wish I could box up some of our scorching temperatures and send them down there to keep you warm.
ReplyDeleteMom Paula
Maybe we should throw our forecasts at each other and we'll BOTH get milder weather--all year around!!! I'm willing to try if you are.
ReplyDeleteOh Poppy! Snow on the beach! Mum's only seem it twice when it has been covered! Brr! Keep those heaters running and keep warm! When you say you get cold air from Antarctica ,it gives us a chill in spite of our 40C temp.
