I know I am lucky that I gets to go outside any time I want. Here in New Zealand, most cats get to wander around our properties and the neighbourhood. Mum did see a poor cat though, last weekend that had been hit by a car. Somebody had wrapped it in a towel and left it at the side of the road. So we know it is risky, but it is a good life. I love to come out and roll around on the footpath and sniff the smells on my new lampost. I get to chew on outside grass and chase the critters and best friend lives two houses down, and we get together in the morning and play.
You are lucky that it's safe where you live so that you can go outside. I just worry about kitties outside, especially near cars.

Bless you little Poppy Q, it is a risky business indeed to venture out into that big wide world, we have our own 'kitty' courtyard that our mum made for us, it is safe from nasty cars, although, our big brother Spirit was a street cat before mum rescued him, so is allowed to go over the wall.....
ReplyDeletePurrs Tarmie and Pixie and Spirit ♥
You look like you are having a grand time, Poppy. It must be safer where you live for kitties, even with the car dangers. In my city, we get hungry coyotes, mean dogs, really horrible drivers, angry raccoons, psychotically cruel humans and leaked antifreeze. Too risky for us.
ReplyDeleteYou are very lucky you have a safe neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteYou are a good girl not going on the road.
ReplyDeleteI must email you a photo of one of the kittens - her nick name is Poppy Blue after you Poppy -(Brent called her this & it stuck) she looks like a British Blue - NOT a Burmese. She is a very cute kitten.
Another lovely winter day up here today.
Love Leanne
How fun to haf a furriend that lives two doors down! We've nefur been visiting before! Haf a happy Sunday! xoxo
ReplyDeleteHere is the same, Poppy !
ReplyDeleteand yep, I do agree..It's risky but it's a good life for us !
I like you can show your tummy on the footpath..MOL
I never done that, I must try : )
But I feel so sorry for that cat. You and Me have to watch out the road. I used to love to across the road to the empty land ( which was my jungle ) but now no more ! because now they built the house there which is good for me. And hope you are not a fan of across the road.
Purrs for that poor cat
Have a lovely day Poppy
xoxo
You are lucky to go out--and very brave too! I bet that lamp post smells good now.
ReplyDeleteOur mom worries about dangers to us, too, of which cars are only one. That's why we have the enclosed back garden. It's more common to keep your cats contained or indoors in North America, but we know that in most other places it's not the norm, it's the norm to allow cats to roam freely. Just be careful and street-savvy, Poppy!
ReplyDeleteI am allowed to go out the back but since Teddy got here, I don't go out there very much, unless mum or dad come with me.
ReplyDeleteYou do have a great life! Playing with critters must be fun. But please be careful and be safe!
