Welcome 2014

Welcome to 2014 - we are glad that you are finally here!!!  New Years Eve was a glorious day here in the capital city.  Warm and sunny and breezy, it was a pleasure to have the doors open and the mumster made a tasty steak and salad dinner for her and then a feast for me.   We stayed home and relaxed together, and the youngsters in the neighbourhood weren't too rowdy, although they did have some fireworks that they let off at midnight that made me a bit scairdy.  It made me run outside and hide under the deck, but only for fifteen minutes then I came inside and snuggled nest to mum.  This was the first year in years that we have stayed up til midnight!!
A leisurely lie in was in order this morning, and although we were up and about by 08.30 to enjoy the daylight as by 11am the dark clouds rolled in the it rained for a solid five hours.  The mumster took this opportunity to grab a rubbish bag and do some clearing out of the bedroom of stuff that had been bugging her for some time.  I claimed the bag, only letting her take it after I had laid all over it.  She gave in and found me a shopping bag to sleep on, and I have been on that for the past five hours or so.

Chicken risotto was made for her dinner, and I still haven't wanted mine yet.  The tele box is on, and mum is watching The Tourist with Johnny Depp and Angelina, which she has seen some time ago.  She might have to throw another blanket on the bed tonight before we snuggle up as it is rather chilly here.

The mumster doesn't make any resolutions for the year, but she does have a list of goals of things to try and achieve.

We hope you all had a relaxing day too and have great plans for your year ahead.

  4. Your mum's off to a good start in this new year, very productive! Our human will try to finish painting the guest bedroom, once it's light enough out to see.

As for us, we're hunkered down--we'd freeze our you-know-whats off if we still had any, it's that cold out.

  9. Happy New Year to you both. It got chilly up here too - the cats got a hottie and Laura slept under the covers which she hasn't done for weeks so she must of been cold too.
