Glam

 Mum is sitting on the couch in her dressing gown eating spag bol while watching the Graham Norton show and feeling glamorous.  I'm napping on the bed.  Mum has two hours before she has to be at work for her nightshift.   She is holding out until Monday morning when her shifts are over.  She never gets much sleep so I'll be sleeping on her behalf.

Shift

 Mum is back on the evening shifts and will do night shift at the weekend again.  I miss her and am waiting at home for my feast.

Skies

 Mum paused this evening on the way home to see some delicate pinkish clouds drifting by.  We have had three glorious hot days with golden afternoons sending promises of summer.  

The weather report warns us of cloud and rain to come.  Mum will be on nightshift again so she thinks that it will be good sleeping weather.  

Evening

 The evening was lovely tonight, a taste of summer.  Mum got groceries on the way home and was a but hot and bothered when she got back.  So it was warm enough for shorts and a tshirt and she sat with a cold drink, and finished reading her book in the sun.  I came out and joined her, but lately I've been enjoying sitting down by the rubbish bin.  Mum thinks it must smell nice to me.  

After Lunch

 After lunch I made mum come and give me some pets, a few temptations and then birdie got a roll around in a bag of catnip.  Then I was ready for a nap while mum went out to make the most of the sunshine.  Lovely.

Caturday

 It's rather gloomy outside again today so mum wanted to share some of the photos that she took during the week.  Mum has spent most of the day watching Downton Abbey , which is being replayed on the television at the moment. A change from all of the horrid shows currently on.

Snuggle

 Goodness we had another rough cold day again today.  Mum had to pull out her puffer jacket stain, and managed to head outside just as the worst weather arrived.  She brushed up all the leaves down the side of the house, that had been blown down in the past few windy nights.  She took the books back to the library and picked up some more to read.  

Then off to the supermarket,  gosh things are getting more and more expensive everywhere.   For example we used to be able to get cans of fancy feast at 10 for $9, or 90 cents each.  Now the cheapest they are is for $1.20 each.  So it was mince on toast for mum for dinner, easy and tasty.  

Mum came home and plonked herself on the couch with some grapes and watched Titanic.   It's been a few years since she watched it and it still made her a bit teary at the end.  I had a big old nap.

Tuesday

 Mum and I pottered today.  It was windy and cold outside and mum has to sort some stuff out.  There's always jobs that need doing round the place.  Heaters are back on tonight, thanks fickle spring weather. 

November

 Hello November.  The morning started off overcast so mum went to the movies to see Julia,  the documentary movie about Julia Child.  It was a lovely film, and one that will continue to tell her story and her influence on cooking that continues long after her death.

As mum left the cinema, there was bright hot sunshine.  Enough heat that after mum got groceries she even put her shorts and sandals on and sat in the sun and read her book and had a cool drink.  I came out to talk go her and tell her that I was happy for my feast at anytime. 

Meeting

 There was a neighborhood meeting of neighbor cats held this afternoon in the back garden.  Naughty neighbor cat was voted out and I was allowed to stay.

Caturday

 What a nice Caturday for us ladies.  We relaxed all day then mum headed out to meet some friends for a tasty dinner.  She had some fish and chips by the harbour and I had a fancy feast when she got home.  Perfect.

Friday

 Mum had a nice relaxing day.  A lunch at a Cafe with a bestie, some mall shopping, patting Charlie cat, a pile of groceries,  sweet and sour chicken, talking to me and a good book to read.

Shady

 When the sun shines this little pensioner needs to find a shady spot so I don't get sunstroke.

Storm

 This is mums friends cat Storm who lives with her brother Dust.  They have a beautiful garden to run round and explore in and lots of lovely places to sleep the day away.   Lucky cats!!

Busy

Mum was busy pottering round yesterday and forgot to post.  Today she was up early and went out to visit with friends and have lunch.  All the food and full bellies led to a walk along the beach front.  There were lots of spring flowers out, so mum has lots of shots to share.  I was glad when she got home, feast time for me too.
 

Caturday

 Mum thought her sleeping was getting back to normal,  and the wound up awake until 4am this morning.   So she pottered around today and took herself out for a walk in the afternoon sun to tire herself out.  Then she came home to sit in the back yard next to me.  We enjoyed our little sit down together.   

She's having a quiet evening tonight.  A simple dinner and a movie - Sicario a rather grim drama about a FBI agent been involved in hunting down Cartel members, although she thinks Emily Blunt does a great job in her dramatic role.  Then it will be time to read her book and we can have a snuggle    

Appreciate

 We are loving having some blue sky and warmth.  The hedge is getting a bit overgrown  - mum might have to get the clippers out soon.

Relaxing

 Just taking it easy and enjoying some sunbeams.

Resistance

 Well mom had a rough night.  She was wide awake until 4am.  She got a few hours sleep today, but boy she has had to resist having a nap today.  Tonight she's finally tired.  Yippee!!

Home

 Mums home after night shift now.  She's not sure if and when she should be sleeping.  Her body clock is all muddled up.  I say sleep like a cat - just lie down when you feel sleepy mum.

Still on Nights

 Mums last night shift tonight.  She's tired and I miss her.

Busy

 Mum didn't realize until tonight that she forgot to give you a picture yesterday.   She's busy on night shift and I'm busy avoiding my new foods.

 Happy Birthday to me - I'm a big grown up 15 year old today.  Mum woke up and sung to me and gave me kisses.   I was thrilled!!!  No kidney biscuits today, I got a big tasty fancy feast when mum got home.

Thank you for all the kind comments.  Mum and I appreciated them all.  We are lucky to have so many sweet friends thinking of us.

Bloods

 Today was mums day off work and treat Tuesday.   She had a nice pastry for breakfast sitting in the sunshine, and then we had an appointment.  At the new vets.  I was due for my arthritis joint injection and mum wanted me to have my vaccination and I had a couple of mats  on my tummy that needed to be taken off.   The vet was nice and suggested a blood test as it was a while since I had had one.

So we came home and mum had lunch while I sulked in the bedroom.   The vet rung this afternoon and the bloods show some renal failure, but thankfully at the early stages.  I have to now go on special renal biscuits and see the vet again in  a month.  Mum did have a little cry and then got herself up to dish up my feast.  I got extra cuddles tonight too.

Confrontation

 Mum got a lecture from someone at work today about how they weren't getting the vaccination, how it's all a scam, worse than the Nazis, how it's all a form of control and all about money.  Mum wonders then if they don't believe in science or doctors advice why they were at the hospital in the first place?  Anyway Mum didn't engage with the argument as she knew that was what they were fishing for.  Mum wasn't surprised at the stories - she knows all the excuses.  It was the tone and the arrogance - like they thought they were educating her.  

She came home and had a drink tonight.  And gave me cuddles. 

Pastoral

 It looks very green in the garden at the moment  - lots of lovely green growth.   I like to sit out and soak up the sun.

Caturday

 I stayed home and licked catnip off my birdie.  Mum went out and ate chicken salad, bought some candles, looked at shops, ate some rice, drunk some fruit juice, walked in the sun and then relaxed.   Good times.

Friday

 This girl is ready for the weekend. 

Just Chilling

 Life is pretty quiet for me lately.   Mums working lots and I'm looking after the napping.   We're a good team though.

Treat Tuesday

 Mum figured out on her roster that she has the next 5 Tuesdays off work and decided to make them Treat Tuesdays.  Today she didn't feel like spending money, so she did things for herself ar home.

- started a new library book

- hair mask and facial scrub

- watched a movie while knitting on the couch

- took a nap

- chicken schnitzel and salad for dinner

I got a good brushing, a feast, lots of kisses and some temptations - so treats for me too.

Drizzling

 Mum wonders how it is sunny on the days she has to work and drizzling on her days off?

Worker

 Mums seven day stretch finished tonight.  She's exhausted  - me too.

Busy

 Mum has knitted another lot of mask extenders for her work colleagues.   She has made 35 so far, but has more to do.  At the moment she has to wear surgical masks the whole time at work, except when drinking and eating.   She also has to wear them on public transport and in places like supermarkets and at the library , which can be a long 10 hours of mums day.  Mums poor ears get quite sore most days.  Mum is trying to make one for everyone she works with and for her friends as well. 

Hello October

 Mum was going to say Happy October but she realized that I look a bit unhappy in the photo.  I'm a happy girl, I just don't like to smile for the camera.  This month I'll be 15 - and my mum says I can do exactly what I want.  

Evening

 Mum and I had a good evening.  She made 10 mask extenders for some of her colleagues.   She enjoyed her dinner - roast pork, kumara, pumpkin, carrots and green beans.   She has been a bit bored with her meals lately.   A bit like me and my feasts too.  Mum worries about my appetite.  It's not like it used to be  but I still eat and beg for my feast every evening.   I just only eat about 1/4 when it's dished up and go back for a little nibble later on.

Evening

 Mum and I had a quiet evening.   Chicken vegetable noodles for dinner for mum and a feast for me.  Snuggles on the bed and now mum better finish the dishes so that she can go to bed.  Another exciting evening at Chez Q.

Not Today

 No blue skies  here today.  Heavy clouds, rain and cold it's been a chilly one today.  Mums going to put her fleecy pajamas on tonight.   Me - well I wear mine everyday.
