Morning Mum

How comes you up at 6am mum?  Everyone in the city is staying home, in fact most people in the whole country are still tucked up in bed.

Well my poppy princess the mum mumster is an essential worker so she has to go to work and wear a mask from 7.30am til she gets home at 5pm.  So keep the house warm and cozy and I'll be home with the feast and ready for the weekend together.  Mum loves you. Xxxx

Feast

Well we're in a little lockdown here in NZ.  We watched the world's media mock us for locking down after finding one community case, we get it.  But you see by the next day it was 10 cases and today 21.  So we sense this will last longer than the 3 days we are starting with.

Mum regretted that Monday she was too tired to go to the supermarket, Tuesday it was too wet and Wednesday she planned to go after work, but the supermarket shut early.  She went today after work and it wasn't  too bad.  No lines, straight in.  She didn't need toilet paper but was a bit low on the feast.  She got fresh fruit, veg, meat and bread, and a bunch if fancy feast tins.  Crisis averted.

Wordless Wednesday- Cheddar

Catoflage

Mum gave me a new towel for my bed and now she has to look close to see if I am on my little bed.  I love me a big towel.

So now we are in lockdown again.  This time hopefully for 3 days.  Mum should have gone to the supermarket today.   Oh well.

Windy Again

Well it's wildly windy out there again.  The weather pattern seems to be 1 or two nice sunny days then 3 days of stormy weather.   The little Uber mum got home tonight just about got blown about.

Sunny Sunday

Why hello sunny Sunday.  We are enjoying the sun shifting over and creeping back into our bedroom.   We tried to enjoy it as more rain has been forecast this week.  Mum went for a wander and got herself some rolls for lunch and made a lemon chicken risotto for her dinner. Lots leftover for lunch this week. She needs to go on a feast run tomorrow as I'm running out.

It's been  a quiet weekend.   The nights are still chilly and mum has been watching The Godfather I + II.  She had never watched them all the way through and thought she would try this weekend.   She enjoyed the first movie, the 2nd was a bit drawn out and too long.  She was mesmerized by a young Al Pacino.

Caturday

Mum did a couple of loads of washing.  She hung them inside, then hung them outside then back inside again.  I watched her and then went back to snoozing again.

Bright

When it's not raining the sun is shining bright.  I'm enjoying the warm rays and we are longing for spring to arrive.

Arrival

The microwave arrived yesterday.   Boy it was heavy and the box was an awkward size.  Mum was glad that she got the courier to deliver it.  Now what to do with the old one ?  She'll have to organize a man with a van to take it to the dump.

Stealer

Mum was reading on the bed and got up to visit the bathroom, so it was my chance to steal her spot.  She doesn't mind - she went and watched the news.  Not very cheery tonight - Covid, fires and other depressing stuff.  Mum misses the Olympics.

Brrrr!!!

Well it's been chilly here today.  Mum woke up and it was too cold to do anything except have a shower and warm up by the heater before she went to work at midday.  The rain/sleet started as she left so luckily there was a cheap uber close by.

I stayed all snuggled up waiting for her to get home this evening, a quick fancy feast and back to bed.  We can't wait for spring and summer!!!!

Sunday

So tonight it's raining, freezing and stormy outside with winds howling and it feels like the power might flicker and die.  Mum can't figure out if weather has always been like this, or does every bad bout of weather seem like a storm?  So we're off to snuggle in our warm bed.  Mum has the torch out and the phone fully charged just in case.

4th

Mums microwave oven started emitting a smoky horrible smell on Thursday, so mum is awaiting the new replacement.   She chose this one and it should be here next week.

She has had 3 microwaves in the past.  A big brown one that her parents gave her as a 21st present.  It weighed about 30kg and she used it for 18 years until one day it caught itself on fire  and died.  The last 2 have been Panasonic ones that have been ok but mum thought it time for a change.  This silver one was on special so mum thought at 40% off it would be fine.  She only ever uses one for reheating leftovers or heating up soup.  So we are waiting for the couriers door knock.

Friday

Not much planned here  at the house of Q.  The mumster has to work so I have to stay home and keep her quilt warm.

Birdie Tree

Mum put the washing out in the sun yesterday and noticed how many sparrows were sitting in the tree waiting for their dinner.  She had been feeding them bird seed over winter and they seem to be enjoying it.

Chat

I was glad when mum woke up this morning, so I could sit beside her and have a little chat.  She'd had a middle aged lady night of too hot then too cold, and she woke up to a chilly morning with just one cover on her.  I usually then follow mum to the bathroom and talk to her during her visit there and then wait outside the door while she takes her shower - or I sneak back on the bed and steal her spot!!

Just another quiet Monday.  Mum off to work at 6.20am and I'm just chilling on the mumster bed.

Evening

Mum worked another afternoon shift today.  A busy shift is fine, it goes quicker and before you know it mum is home again.  A late night dinner for both of us and then now a bit of relaxing before mum heads to bed.  Don't worry mum I'll warm the bed up for you.
