The day was sunny but crispy cool in the shade and the sun has slipped behind the apartments beside us, leaving the washing line in the shade. As long as it stays sunny in the afternoon, mum can still get the washing dried. Mum lives getting her washing done and dried and will miss the summer sun.
I joined mum sitting outside to enjoy some vitamin d, before she went out to do some chores. She had some sushi for her lunch, and wandered around town for an hour or two. Mum got some bagels and foid for tomorrow, as the shops will be closed for Good Friday. We are lucky as Easter is a four day public holiday here. Yippee.
It seems you both had a lovely day, Poppy. Here in our part of Canada, Good Friday is a holiday for everyone, Sunday is a holiday for stores (most of them, including grocery stores) and Monday it's business as usual unless you work for the government or an elementary/secondary school. (Universities are open.) We hope you get lots of sunshine for your long weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe US celebrates nothing for this wonderful event of Easter. All stores are open all around the clock for
ReplyDeletethe whole weekend as usual. I remember when...... We've got spring rains (floods) but I am glad
you have some sun Poppy and hope it lasts longer.
Ha, here in the US hardly anything closes for the Easter weekend. Some places might close on Sunday, but that is it. Mum remembers when the stores closed for a few hours on Friday. So that people could go to church..
ReplyDeleteShops should close on Good Friday, but the chance of making money is too good here for that. It still looks summery green there, Poppy.
