New House

What a day my friends.  Mums lovely niece arrived at midnight and the girls didn't get to bed til after one am.  They got up at 7am so not much sleep.   I was tucked up at the cat hotel.

The movers arrived dead on 08.30am, at the same time as it started raining.  The chaps were quick though, 1 hrs loading and 1 unloading which was awesome.   Mum and Miss Belle unpacked a bit the rest of the day.  They made the beds and set up the TV- the important things.

They then went to the supermarket and then came and got me.  I was a bit frantic when I arrived and sat under the bed and howled for an hour.  I then went round the house exploring.   I have found the dirt box and my biscuits and water.

So we will share some more photos in the days ahead as we explore our new house.

  3. As moves go, seems like everything went very well for your mum. Less so for you, dear. It will become home very soon, just wait. You and your mum are together, that's the important thing.

  4. You are very brace, Poppy! When I moved into my house almost 20 years ago with my then two cats Butterball and Apu, Apu stayed under my bed for a week! I had to shove food and water and a makeshift litter box under the bed! So you are doing really well! You'll give your new home your own smell in no time!

How is it for mom? Closer or farther away from work and supermarket? Enquiring minds want to know!

  5. Poppy, dear, do be very prudent about exploring outside. There's much to be said for a nice howl under the bed.

  6. Poppy, your mum must still be exhausted, but at least it's done! We like those built-in shelves in what we assume is the living room. Perfect for books and knicknacks and maybe there's room for you too!

  8. The interior looks quite different from your old place to judge by the photos shown here, Poppy; I look forward to seeing more of it.

What a day, indeed! I was told long ago that when moving, set up the beds first, as you will be fatigued at the end of the day, and not want to deal with that after all the other work. It must have been good for you and your mum to fall asleep at long last. You'll get used to the place soon enough, Poppy. Remember, your mum has to grow accustomed to the new home, too. Is it less convenient to her work, I wonder.
