There's meant to be a strawberry shortage here in NZ, right on time for Christmas. Just about every family has pavlova with cream and strawberries. Luckily mum got some this morning. The supermarket was crazy busy at 8am with people stocking up.
Mum has one night shift left to go, so just one more lonely night for me.
Poppy, we're glad your mum got some strawberries. We had to Google the dessert, though, never heard of it, at least not by that name. The pics via Google look yummy!
ReplyDeleteWe hope you also get something yummy for Christmas, Poppy, and we wish you and your mum a lovely holiday, whatever that looks like for you. Lots of hugs and purrs from us. ♥
Wishing you and Mum a happy Christmas and the best in the new year. I hope she shares some cream with you.
ReplyDeleteWow... Nice looking strawberry. We only get the shaped ones with NO flavor if they're mass produced (which most are). I really look forward to finding some home-grown ones during the season (which is June here). Merry Christmas Poppy and mum!!!
ReplyDeleteI had to look up what a pavlova was, and now I'm envious. What a fine culinary tradition. I'd leave room for that dessert, all right.
