Monday

The storm has blown over.  It wasn't bad for us, but lots of floods in the South Island.  Of course that news was dwarfed by the news of the White Island Volcano that happened this afternoon.  How awful for the people killed and injured in the disaster, and we especially feel for those on their holidays.  We hope that the police and rescue teams can return to the Island tomorrow.

Monday

Mum got called in again early this morning which gave her the day at home.  She was pleased to be able to share some afternoon sunbeams with me.

She also did some study.  She is doing a small online course on ancient Egypt.  She felt like learning something interesting.  It is only for 6 weeks and she us enjoying all the reading, but not looking forward to the quiz at the end.

So now to go to bed and read some more.

Monday

Monday already here.  Mum has had a good day at work.  She came home and there was still some sunshine for a little bit.  She got some tasty things to eat this week and made herself a nice dinner.  It is a big night. She is going to put the laptop away and the phone down and watch the Game of Thrones final.  She's excited to see what happens.

Me - I had a quiet day as usual.  A little bit of outsiding and a little sleeping.  Then a meet and greet when mum gets home.

Monday

Mum had a busy day today.  She had a lovely evening last night with her niece Miss Belle - they went out for dinner and then sat and watched a movie.  Then they were up early this morning as Miss Belle had to catch her plane back to Auckland, so mum went with her to the airport.  It was a bit of a grey day and they got there nice and early so there was time to sit and eat breakfast and have a bit of a chat.

Once mum waved Miss Belle off - this was her Air New Zealand plane moving out to take off, she went into town for a bit of a wander.  It was a quiet morning pottering round, then mum went off to the library to sit and read, but found herself nodding off, so rather than snore in public, she went to the supermarket and got some supplies then headed home.

So washing was done and put out on the line, and dinner was cooked - a feast for me and mums usual chicken and broccoli past for dinner.  A bit of tv and then some phone calls and now bed for us girls.  Mum is pleased that  I have returned inside and seem quite calm tonight.

Hope your week got off to a good start too.

Monday

Mum had intentions of doing lots of chores and cleaning after work tonight.  Instead us girls curled up on the bed and she read her book for an hour or so.  Then there were lots of phone calls taken and dinner wasn't dished out for her til 9pm (chicken and veg chilli noodles), although she remembered to serve my feast up earlier.

So now it is getting late and mum only had a chance to put a couple of things away and rinse some dishes.  Tomorrow night will have to be busy then, with jobs done before she plants her butt on the couch.

Hope you got some relaxing done tonight.  Oh and the noisy boy from next door, he is rather cute.  Our upstairs neighbour is his nanny, and mum got to walk home with them tonight.  When mum is there he is all shy and quiet.

Monday

Mum was up like an early bird this morning.  She had a good day, but was glad to hit home with me.  I was ready for a snuggle and climbed onto her knee and cried when she got home.  Then she realized that my biscuit bowl was empty.  Oh well.

Last day of winter here in New Zealand.  Thanks for coming winter, but we sure are ready for spring.  Bring it on!!

Have a good weekend everybuddy.

Monday

Monday has rolled around again, and there is certainly an autumn chill in the air, which is a shame as it is only February, and we were just enjoying our summer.  Hopefully this Southerly blast will blow over quickly, and as  you can see by our backyard we are in the need of some rain.  Certainly the farmers need it, so we must not complain.

Mum is a bit annoyed, as either the weather has interfered with our television, making it hard to view, or the painters when they were on the roof have moved it round.  So it will have to cost mum to get the man to come out with his special machine so he can take proper readings.  Of course mum will have to ring the landlord to sort it out, but she may have to wait for a sunny day just to be sure.

She was proud of herself as she made a big chicken and vegetable stirfry tonight with rice, so has enough for the next two days dinners made and plenty of feasts available for me.  So tomorrow night she does not have to rush home via the supermarket, but can come home and relax.

Hope you are all relaxing tonight too!!

Monday

How can it be Monday already?  Mum got a bit more fur off me with some brushing, but she needs to still chase me to get the pantaloons thinned out.  She does feel she got some jobs done, she went for a brisk walk beside the beach.  It was windy and she got sand blown in her face, but the sky was bright blue and the sea was a pretty turquoise colour, it almost looked like an exotic location.  Birthday presents were purchased, doesn't it get harder as you get older?  Everybody has everything they need, but little treats are always nice.

Feast was put out for me, and spicy chicken was made by mum which she added to some lettuce and tomatoes, and put in a wrap for her dinner.  There are still some strawberries left over, so there will be supper, but only after the dishes are done.

Hope your week starts well too!!!

Monday

Mum had her third night of call last night, and was lucky that she got a good 6 hours sleep.  She got up and had a shower and was then called in, so had to go with her hair wet and some clothes that she just grabbed to wear.  She then came home and dried off and got dressed as she had a funeral to attend.

One of her lovely work colleagues died suddenly a week ago, and so sadly this is the second time in a fortnight that mum and many of her friends have gathered together.  The memorial was lovely with lots of music and talks from her friends and family.

She was able to come home and relax with me before she heads out again this evening to catch up with friends.  I was hiding under the deck for a while, as the neighbours had builders replacing a wooden board on their house.  Tonight she thinks we will both be tired and appreciative of a long snooze.

Mondayitis

Mum says it is a good job I am so cute.  She is sure that no-one at the cattery got up at 3am or 5.30am to hand deliver biscuits into my bowl.  I was just helping her get up at 6am.

So, a rainy Monday here in the city.  We wish the rainclouds would head towards all of our friends who live in Australia who need it more than us.

Monday

Monday, and we are quiet around our house, as mum is still recovering.  Her cough is a real bark, which scares me and she has laryngitis as well.  So she has stretched out on the couch and watched lots of things on the DVR.  The flu is doing the rounds of Wellington at the moment, and mum says that it is the nastiest one that she has had, she certainly doesn't want to pass it on to anyone else.

Monday

Monday flashback - back to when I slept inside. Last night, I slept outside on the outside chair, and mum the softie left me the bathmats to sleep on. She keeps checking outside, as the grey clouds are gathering and she doesn't want to get us wet.

She would take a picture, but she thinks she might have losted the camera. Ohhhh ohhhhh!!!

Monday

A boring Monday. Mum was at work til 3am, so that meant she only had to go back from midday til 6pm.

She gave me a chicken thigh with some meat on it for my dinner, so I am spending the evening guarding it outside by the back door.

Monday already?

Mum thought you might like to see photos of where she went walking on Sunday, it is the beach about a 10 minute drive from our house and is right next to the airport. It was sunny, but very, very cold and windy.

Now back to the birds, I don't catch them. I just sit and watch them fly onto our roof and eat the bread, and hope that one of them slips off so I can chase him. It works better when mum throws the bread onto the neighbours roof, as it is lower that ours, but as they were home they might have thought something strange was happening. So mum only throws bread on their roof during the week, when they are at work.

Have a great week everybuddy.

Monday

We had quite a photo session at the weekend - me and the mat. So mum thinks she will spend this week posting all of the pictures so you can see them.

She doesn't know why I didn't like the rubber door mats. Maybe they smelled funny, or felt strange. Doesn't matter as she has to get rid of them now. Now I have my sunflowers, I am happy.

We hope you all had a great start to your week.
