Wordless Wednesday

 

Chill

 Mums sleeping has been weird, after her nightshifts,  but she has been giving into it and going back to sleep when she needs it.  Today she feels better, and will hopefully manage to sleep tonight and be more productive tomorrow.   

I have been busy supervising her rest and regulating the meal breaks.

Sunshine

 I got to enjoy some sun today.  Mum finished her nightshifts this morning.   She always thinks she'll stay up, but the call to sleep is so strong.  Back to normal life tomorrow. 

One More

 One more nightshift to go then mum is back in the bed with me.  

Mums Caturday

 Mum worked her 1st nightshift finishing late with an hour and a half overtime this morning.  She then went go the supermarket and stocked up with lots of sugary treats.  So midway through her breakfast at 8.30am, and thoughts of her bed, her phone went.  The hairdressers had a cancelation and could she do a 2pm appointment?

So with 3 hours sleep mum went to her appointment,  then came home and got another 3 hour sleep.   She can't say she's feeling super awake tonight, but she has enough reserves to soldier on, into night two.

It seems like everything else in life that is becoming stretched, a hairdressers availability is a rare thing at the moment.  This was a new girl, and mum is feeling a bit meh about the cut and the price, and may look for a new salon.

 Mum has 10 minutes of the Great British Sewing Bee to watch before she has to get ready to go and work her nightshift.  

Snuggly

 Its pouring out there and mums working late again, so I stay snuggly in my heated bed with my biscuits beside me.

Wordless Wednesday

 

Hello

I meowed at my mum this afternoon to say i was ready for my dinner.  She told me that 1.30pm was a little too early.  She is on late shifts again, so i was hungry when she got home.
 

Relaxing

 Today was another relaxing day.  The weather in the city was just beautiful.   Mum had another sleep in and pottered around for the morning.   Then she went off for a walk.  She bought the underwear that she couldn't pay for in Saturday,  the bank wasn't working for four hours on that day.  She finally got the sour cream she needed.  So tonight she got to make her baked potatoes- and they were delicious she said.

Me - well i went outside with mum a couple of times and took a few naps.  It's starting to cool down now, winter is creeping in.

Happy Easter

 Happy Easter friends - we hope you have a lovely day.  For the first year ever mum didn't get in any Easter eggs.   This year there wasn't a lot of stock in the shops  and the past few years the things mum has bought have sat in the cupboard months after Easter has passed.  She has enough chocolate treats stashed away to last for months.

Mum took herself out for a walk and bought some fruit and veg.  She felt like making baked potatoes,  but got home and realized that she had no sour cream, and you can't have a baked potato without sour cream, so she'll have to make them tomorrow night after a supermarket visit.  

I stayed home and snoozed away the day.

Caturday

 Mum had some jobs to do today so was up early.  The landlord also wanted to do some work outside with a saw, so it was a good opportunity for mum to head out and leave me in charge.  Mum managed two purchases before her card got declined which was unusual.   Turns out the bank crashed, and so their was no more shopping  for mum.  No groceries and no treats.

Of course by the time mum came home, the bank was back in business.   However mum is a oncer - she can go out and stay out, but she seldom goes out again.  Tomorrow everything is closed, but mum has enough in the cupboards to keep us going.

Good

It has been a good Friday here today.  We are lucky having a 4 day weekend here.  Good Friday and Easter Sunday are days when supermarkets, restaurants and shops are closed, but most are open on Saturday and some on Monday.  Which is nice, we don't need to shop every day.

Mum and I pottered today, had windows opened ans enjoyed more sunshine.  Mum did some chores and I caught up on my zzzzs.  Oh and got some treats too.
 

Crispy

 The day was sunny but crispy cool in the shade and the sun has slipped behind the apartments beside us, leaving the washing line in the shade.  As long as it stays sunny in the afternoon,  mum can still get the washing dried. Mum lives getting her washing done and dried and will miss the summer sun.

I joined mum sitting outside to enjoy some vitamin d, before she went out to do some chores.  She had some sushi for her lunch, and wandered around town for an hour or two.  Mum got some bagels and foid for tomorrow,  as the shops will be closed for Good Friday.  We are lucky as Easter is a four day public holiday here.  Yippee.

Ready

 Mum got through today, and she now has some days off.  No more alarm going off at 5.44am.  I'm relieved too.

One

 One more day of mum leaving for work, then she has a few days off with me.   She has a pile of books ready, and no plans for any early starts which suits me.

After Work

 When mum finished her work, she changed out of her uniform and then chatted to a colleague.  She left and got one bus stop away before realizing she had left her phone charging in the bathroom.   So back to work, then back on the bus and heading home.

When she got home there was a bit of wind picking up , but the sun  was peaking through the clouds and she made me join her in sitting outside and enjoying the fresh air before she came inside for the evening.  Fancy feast chicken gravy for me and homemade chicken pad Thai noodles for her.

Sunday

Mums alarm went off at 5.44am, and she fell asleep until 6.04am, waking up dreaming that she would be late to work.  So a quick scrub, wash, brush and dress she called an uber and made it to work early.  She was pleased to get a lunch break today and to eat and drink, something she didn't manage on Saturday when it was too busy.  

She got some good groceries  after work and then was lazy and just had toasted bagels for dinner.  Now time for some yoghurt and passionfruit for dessert.   John asked about the birdies eating our passionfruits.  The skin seems too tough for them to get through,  although the ones that fall and split may be nibbled on.

We found a new game today - mum called it Birdie or passionfruit!!!  Hahaha!!!
 

V.E.T

 Yup, today i had to go to the vets.  Nothing exciting   it was just for my arthritis injection.  Also i have been getting a few mats on my back legs and tail area.  So the vets this time gave me a super duper groom rather than shave.  Mum said i look beautiful now.    The vet was pleased with me too.  Even with my renal disease my weight is steady and he said I'm in good condition.   That made mum super happy.  Within five minutes of being home I was on the bed next to mum purring and happy.

Skies

 The skies have filled with more clouds, and more grey skies than we are used to.  The evenings and mornings are darker, but at least it's not cold yet.  It looked like rain as mum was heading home, but its still dry if somewhat windy.  So mum was glad to get the groceries home without getting damp.

Morning

 This little tabby was very chatty this morning, talking to my mum as she made her way to work this morning.  Luckily she didn't follow mum all the way there.

Sunday

 I'm trying to find a good spot to take an afternoon snooze.

Afternoon Out

 Mum was feeling a bit better today and ventured out this afternoon.   She met a bestie at the cinema and the girls saw Belfast  which they both enjoyed.   Mum then got a couple of groceries and picked up some dinner, before walking home in the sunshine.   A nice quiet day out for her and a day of resting for me.  Extra sleeps tonight, as our daylights savings ends.

Rough

 Mum had a rough night last night.  She'd eaten a dinner at work, and her tummy felt sore for a couple of hours.  When she got home it was still sore but she managed to sleep for an hour.  Then she had extreme abdominal pain and couldn't get comfortable,  she couldn't down and the pain was super bad sitting and standing.   She was close to throwing up the whole time, but managed to keep it all in.  Only after being up until 6am did the pain ease a bit and she could take some pain relief. 

She had to call in sick for work as she still felt sore this morning, and was exhausted from being up all night.  She has managed to eat some toast and had plenty of water today.  Ive been looking after mum and made her give me plenty of pats.

Foggy

Last night as mum left work it was the foggiest she had ever seen in her city.  Hard to see buildings across the road.

When mum got up the hill where she lived, you could see the fog sitting over the city.  

 This morning was beautiful and blue skies, but if you look closely you can see a small bit of fog still sitting behind the houses.

Home

 As mum left work there was a foggy autumnal mist descending over the city, and it has turned to rain this evening.  Soon she will have to take a jacket and umbrella with her, and swap out her lightweight shoes for boots. The heater has been turned on to take the chill out of the air before bed.

Mum cooked a corned beef with vegetables for her dinner, something she doesn't make very often but it reminds her of  her childhood.   She offered me some beef, but i didn't want any.  I got some temptations though, so I'm happy.

Peek a boo

 Mum spied on me through this carboard sleeve.  Peek a boo to you too.

Afternion Tea

 Had my dinner at 3.45pm.  On my mums bed for 5 hours so far. 

Break

 There was a nice break in the weather.   Mum got towels and uniforms washed and dried ready for the week ahead.  I got some warm naps in too.

Friday

 Mum and I are glad that it is Friday.   It was windy and stormy again last night, so I climbed all over mum while she was sleeping and woke her up a couple of times.  So I'm tired today.  

Quiet

Life has been quiet here.  Autumn is in full swing, it is much darker in the mornings now and we have had days if grey rainy weather.  Mum is wondering when it will be sunny again snd when she can get her washing out on the line.  I try to get out in the garden where I can to enjoy a bit of fresh air.

Thunder + Lightning

 It was hot and sweaty as mum left work, and she melted once she got home from the supermarket.   She had a vanilla ice cream to cool down and some glasses of cold water to make her cool down.  

Now the skies have got darker and some thunder + lightning have started.  Don't worry I'm already snoozing and haven't noticed yet.

Puzzle

 I like to help mum do some sudoku puzzles.

Sniffing

 Today there was lots of sniffing that needed to be done on my afternoon patrol.

Treats

Mum could not resist these 2 oven gloves and teatowel that she bought this morning.  For $6 they were an inexpensive treat.  Mum met a bestie and her partner for a lunch in the sun.  They then  visited a garden centre and then sat in the sun at a bar and enjoyed a nice cold drink. 

 She is horrendously tired and hopes that she is able to sleep well tonight.  Last night she only managed a 3.5 hour snooze.  She had only got to sleep at 3.30am, and I woke her up at 5am to tell her something very important, except i forgot what it was.  Better luck tonight mum.
 

Repeat

 Every morning this week it has been cloudy and looking like rain, but clears and is lovely by the afternoon.   So mum didn't stay in bed too long and washed all of her uniforms and clothes.  Mum then soent some time trying to take photos of me in the garden,  which i tolerated a little.  Just a smidge.  Best of all her night shifts are over.

 I am waiting for mum.  One more night of nightshift and then she is back home with me.
