Yes or No?

Mum found a duvet cover online that made her smile.  She is trying to decide if she needs it.  What do you think

Neighbor

Little tabby cat lives in the flats next to us.  She likes to sit and look over the back gardens in the afternoon and soak up the winter sun. We know we are lucky to have our small bit of back garden to enjoy.

Farewell Visit

Mum and I had a farewell visit to our vets this afternoon.  I've been going for the whole 14 years that I have been alive, and mum took her old girl Puss there before me.  They have been a part of the community for 50 years and will be sorely missed.  She took these photos so we have a reminder of our visits.  Can you find me in the shots?

I just needed a senior check today and my arthritis injection.  I was a good girl for the vet and told I was in good health for my age.  Mum thanked them for helping me, but truthfully she felt teary, she is no good at goodbyes as she has got older.

Do you want to know something sweet?  On the way there she put her finger in the carrier and I put my paw on her finger and held it there for the rest of the journey.

Caturday

It's Caturday and winter seems to have arrived.  We've been having frosty cold nights but the days are sunny, but somewhat chilly.  Good weather for soup and bagels says the munster.  Good for sleeping and fancy feast says Poppyq.

Mum worked all day, so tonight she gave herself a facial scrub, lit the candles, put the movie Arrival on , got some Pepsi max out and is about to grab some chocolate out of the fridge (Whitakers berry and biscuit).  Go mum!!

Hello July

Welcome July, we're ready for you.  Thanks for the polar blast to start with.  It's cool with temperatures dropping to about 3degC overnight which is chilly for us.  There has been some sunshine in the afternoon which was welcome.

Mum got an email this afternoon to say that our vets are closing down at the end of the month which is sad.  I have gone to see them my whole life and as they are just a 5 minute ride away the taxi ride to get there and back was not too expensive.   The sad bit for mum is that the vet had a cattery attached to it.  Finding cattery places in our city is difficult.   Luckily covid has restricted travel, so mum has no holidays planned, so she is trying not to get anxious about something that may not happen.

Polar Blast

Brrr the chills are here in our polar blast.  It was a great day for the courier to bring the mumsters new purchase a new wool blanket for the bed.  I test slept on it immediately.   It's good to go mum!!

There have been huge waves around our harbour city and snow on the hills, but mum and I have stayed inside all day with the heaters on. Mum only went outside to pick up the parcel and to put bird seed out for the sparrows.   Otherwise we've just napped and taken it easy.

Sliver

There was a sliver of sunshine for a few hours today.  Mum put some washing out, visited the library and got some groceries and then read her book in the sun while she aired out the house.

Our little lockdown was extended for another 48 hours so it meant mums plans to visit with friends was put on hold.  There is also a polar storm heading up our way, so temperatures have dropped rapidly this evening.   So mum is thinking of spending her day off tomorrow at home with me.  Yippee!!

Snoozing Sunday

Today was perfect snoozing weather.  It was raining and cold and mum was heading off to work.  She made sure I had a cuddle and was all snuggled up before she headed off.  I got a kiss and cuddle when she got back too.  Lucky me.

Caturday

Mum found this old photo from about 8 years ago.  Mum loved those quilts, especially the black and white one.  Maybe it's time to change up our bedding again?  Mum loves a good duvet or quilt.  Some people like cushions or bikes or cars - what does your person/people like?

Smooches

I was in need of some smooches and scratches from my munster this morning.  She obliged and rubbed my ears and brushed my furs.  Perfect.

Afternooning

Mum has another stretch of afternoon shifts and all the changing shifts are catching up with her.  She is happy to have a sleep in but being at work until 11pm has got harder as she has got older.  Unfortunately their are no opportunities to be just doing day shifts in her job.  Boy she needs a lottery win!!!

Little Lockdown

Our city has a little lockdown from 6pm this evening until midnight Sunday.  A traveller from Sydney spent the weekend here and returned home only to test positive for Covid.  Luckily he left a long list of places he visited.

Mum must be psychic as she had checked her toilet paper stash last night and was happy with her 18 double rolls.  She did go to the supermarket after work and although busy it wasn't crazy.  She only needed a few items and was glad to leave quickly.

Double Feature

Mum worked Saturday night, so was given today as her leave day.  She had a little sleep in and then headed to the cinema where she had booked some tickets.   She was most looking forward to seeing Days of the Bagnold Summer, a story about a frumpy mum and her angst filled, Metallica tshirt wearing son and their holiday stuck together.   Alas the slow paced movie made mum nod off and she missed much of the middle part of the show.
So mum made sure to eat and drink during the break between shows.  The 2nd movie was Herself, a story about a young Irish mother.  After being assaulted by her husband she searches for a home for her and her two young daughters.  A story we all understand as the housing crisis is an International problem.  Mum stayed awake for this one - 4/5.

Would You?

Mum saw this on tiktok tonight.  It says she loved her cats on the bottom of the headstone.   Mum thinks it's perfect - how about you?
