Little Lockdown

Our city has a little lockdown from 6pm this evening until midnight Sunday.  A traveller from Sydney spent the weekend here and returned home only to test positive for Covid.  Luckily he left a long list of places he visited.

Mum must be psychic as she had checked her toilet paper stash last night and was happy with her 18 double rolls.  She did go to the supermarket after work and although busy it wasn't crazy.  She only needed a few items and was glad to leave quickly.

  1. Good luck with the lockdown. COVID is going to be with us for a long time, possibly indefinitely, so I think we'll have to learn to cope as best we can, take proper health measures, etc. Here in Ontario, Canada, we moved into phase 1 of reopening back on June 11 and they're looking at heading into phase 2 soon. It's supposedly based on both case counts and vaccination rates, but while most of the population has received its first dose, we have a long way to go before those who are being vaccinated have their second. Things are progressing; it's whether this can outpace the new Delta variant that's taking hold.

Anyway, take care and stay safe, and enjoy a bit of "down" time!

  2. Oh no. I do hope no one in your area has caught this now. I still wear a mask in public, even though our
governor has declared us in no state of emergency. There is in my mind. Only 1/4 of my county has bothered
to vaccinate. Even with the one million dollar give away every week to lure people in for it.

  3. Geez, that covid keeps coming back. Are there not checks for people coming into New Zealand? (And it’s always smart to stay stocked up with toilet paper…)

  4. People mistakenly believe that the pandemic is over once vaccinated...it isn't. I hope no-one else becomes ill and that the source is traced, and I hope you and your Mum enjoy the weekend.
