Mum said it was great to have a day off. She woke before her alarm went off, got up and paid the bathroom a visit and then headed back to bed for an after sleep snooze, because she could. Then up mid morning to have a shower and a leisurely brunch. Her intention was to head out and go for a walk, and although it was warm in the sun, it was cool and brisk outside, so she made a quick visit to the supermarket for a supply of fruit and a few extras. Then she did a marathon session of catching up on the shows she hasn't watched for a while while the washing machine was spinning around.
So nice to have a leisurely day. Mum put my blanket outside on the seat in the sun so I could sunbathe which was nice. We had a nice night together and a chance for a little time together on the couch. hope your week has started off well too.

That sounds really nice Poppy!x
ReplyDeleteIt's good to have a lazy day, once in a while...Chill out and relax...!
And, then the best bit...zzzzzzzzZ!
Poppy, dear, you're so fortunate to have a mum who thinks to put out a blankie for your outside perching place! And what a good girl you are to allow her to have a nice snooze-after-sleep time (my two big young toms think that's a good place to play after breakfast).
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a wonderful day for you both! (Especially the blanket in the sun part.)
ReplyDeleteAh, it's nice to have a day off, eh? When you have nothing planned and nothing to do, it's like a day outside of time. I'm glad you both enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteThat DOES sound like you and your Mum had a great day off. People need days off so they can catch up.
ReplyDeleteSounds like your mum had a lovely leisurely day off Poppy.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a GREAT beginning of the week, Poppy!

ReplyDeleteYeah, we like it when mum stays home and just catches up.
ReplyDeleteSounds like your week is off to a wonderful leisurely start. We are looking forward to spending some time like that when the rainy weather starts. We still have the hots, but after a months of 90+ heat we are so ready to welcome fall. My mom got my space heater & my heating pad out the other day to make sure they were in good working order for the cold weather we have coming. I love to toast myself by the heater when it's cold. I'm an old cat at almost 24 & my fur doesn't keep me warm enough in winter. I think Mom thought she could hurry the cold weather along if she got the cold weather stuff out. I didn't meow anything about her being silly, but I really don't think mom's strategy will make fall come any faster than it intends to arrive. Is it getting more like spring in NZ Poppy? We would love to send some of our hots your way if you would like some.
