Toesie Tuesday

Mum got home today and the builders have finished - yippeee!!  They were especially noisy today, so she took off and spent the afternoon at the library and read one book, and got started on the next so she felt better that she had some time out and a walk in the sunshine.  Me - well I have been hiding, and hiding so well that mum has to search hi and low when she gets home and is not sure which neighbors I am at.  She hopes that I am able to settle down a bit more now that things should return to normal - at least for a while.  First the scaffolding has to come down, and at some stage the windows will have to be installed, but we are sure that will be a couple of months away.

Mum loves my little big feet.  I am a good girl and have only scratched her once or twice when she has picked me up, but am very good with my sharp claws and try not cling onto her.  Mum has never cut my claws, as I am an inside outside cat I can scratch trees and wood outside.  Also it is not something that kiwi cats get done, none that we know of anyways.

  2. Poppy, dear, we mums do appreciate kitties that keep their claws in their paws when being lifted into carriers! My big toms enjoy sharpening their talons on the firewood in the lounge basket: makes a mess, but better firewood than the furniture.

  3. We didn't know that kiwi cats didn't get their claws trimmed. Lucky you! Nicki likes to sharpen his on the new stairs' carpet of course, in spite of the multitude of cat mats and scratchers and condos!

Happy dance for most of the work being done! We hope things settle down and return to normal now, until the windows get done. Take care.

  4. I'm glad the builders are don e; now things can get back to a bit of normalcy, eh? You'll like that, Poppy. Merchants like to claim that cat-scratching posts keep cats' claws dull, but I think the furniture just gives them something to scratch other than chairs and couches. I still have to cut my beasts' claws.

  5. We always cat our cats claws and often give complementary pedicure for our guests. Shame the builders didn't take Easter off so you could of stayed home

  6. I love your toesies, Poppy! I have to get my claws trimmed before cat shows so I don't accidentally snag a judge. Bing and Boodie are in-the-house only so they need trims now and again. Binga hates them, even though she gets treats afterwards.

  8. I am glad the builders have finished for now and you can get some peace and quiet. I never had my claws cut until I got ill, but then I wasn't going outdoors to keep them short. They kept catching in everything when I walked so my mum tipped a tiny bit off the ends for me.

  9. Your paws are awesome, Poppy. Lovely and fluffy. My poor Holly was declawed at some point in her life. Glad the builders are done and peace will return.
