New Digs

These are photos of the new place - another old place and a downstairs half of a house so more new noises to get used to.

We were asked about the new landlord.   Well our current landlady is keen to have the house listed by the 23rd of Feb.   Yhen if it sells you are given 42 days notice if you have to leave.  Mum has two holidays booked in March and lots of weeks working between then and now.

The house might sell to a new landlord or to someone who would move in themselves or it might not sell, although the housing market is going crazy at the moment.  Mum had just thought she should begin the process and did not expect to find somewhere on Sunday.   She is nervous that she has made a good decision.   At the moment though she wanted to the best thing for us, so that we could stay together.

So fingers crossed it will also work out for us.  She has booked movers so doesn't have too much else to organise.

  2. It does look lovely, lots of natural light! (I envy that!)

We think it was wise of your mum to be proactive. Better to do this right away than to be stressed and under the gun to find a place. Best of luck with the move, we hope it all goes well and that you both settle in quickly to your new home. We hope, too, that you'll be able to stay there (if you choose) for as long as you want. :-)

  3. Your new place looks lovely! That's a nice big bay window for Poppy to lounge in and watch the world go by. The yard seems much nicer. The place looks bigger too, maybe because of all the light. The only negatives could be if you have loud people upstairs or if that pic-nic table just outside YOUR window is used by them . It looks like a good choice. You could put some planters outside your door with colorful flowers. It's going to be great.

  4. Poppy, dear, when the bilge pumps run 24/7, it's time to locate the lifeboats. Lovely windows for sunning here! If the new landlord was smart enough to choose your mum (and you), it bodes well for the type of neighbors above.

  6. Your mum is wise not to wait and see what landlords and buyers might do. We are happy to see she found a lovely home for you. And what a garden!🐾🌿

  7. It's always a bit nerve-wracking after making a big decision, wondering if you've made the correct choice. But as Eileen wrote, your mum was smart not to wait. It may have been too late by the time she decided to do something. It's always best not to second-guess yourself too much. I've learned that over-thinking doesn't work too well with me; I tend to go with first impressions or decisions - or think I should have after I don't go with them. Your mum did the right thing.
