It has been a snoozy Caturday here - much like every other day. Mum was pleased to have a day off, and got to catch up with a bestie. Mum was pleased to get a 7 hours sleep in, and the day was looking like it was heading towards some stormy weather rolling in again. She left me alone to go and catch up with her friend. They spent money at a small cafe and had tasty roasted beef salad rolls which were nice and filling.
Then the girls went to the cinema to see The Chaperone. Mum loved the book, and the movie was pretty good. It is the story of Louise Brooks and her chaperone Norma who accompanies the teenager to New York in the 20s. Beautiful dresses and hats with echoes of Downton Abbey, which is no surprise as the screenplay is written by Julian Fellowes and Norma is played by Elizabeth McGovern (Lady Cora from Downton). It was a bit slow, but what mum thinks of as a gentle Sunday night movie.
Mum then went for a bit of a walk before she headed home. She then chatted to me and gave me a bit of a brush, before my feast was dished out and I chowed down. Mum felt like a treat so when she baked her chicken, she added some chips. Chicken and chips - super tasty and it felt like a treat. She had a big bowl of grapes for her supper. Now it is an early night as she has an early start for work on Sunday.

The weather is pretty wild over here to Poppy!x
ReplyDeleteBranches and bits of debris all over the place,
worse down here in the south, though, thankfully
no rain..clearing up for tomorrow! :).
Sounds as if Mum had a nice day, and both of you
chilling out now! Chicken and chips..Nice!
And grapes to..lovely..I love grapes, black ones
and full of pips! HeHe! I do have grapes growing
out in the garden, though their quite small, and
rather bitter, don't do anything to them, just
let them get on with it..they grow from a large
pot..look nice though! :).
you know I heard Cora all the way thru the book as her name LOL Oh If it is slow I will nod off. But I bet the costumes and set will be fab to see. Not showing up here yet.
