Polar Blast
Brrr the chills are here in our polar blast. It was a great day for the courier to bring the mumsters new purchase a new wool blanket for the bed. I test slept on it immediately. It's good to go mum!!
There have been huge waves around our harbour city and snow on the hills, but mum and I have stayed inside all day with the heaters on. Mum only went outside to pick up the parcel and to put bird seed out for the sparrows. Otherwise we've just napped and taken it easy.

Sliver
There was a sliver of sunshine for a few hours today. Mum put some washing out, visited the library and got some groceries and then read her book in the sun while she aired out the house.
Our little lockdown was extended for another 48 hours so it meant mums plans to visit with friends was put on hold. There is also a polar storm heading up our way, so temperatures have dropped rapidly this evening. So mum is thinking of spending her day off tomorrow at home with me. Yippee!!

Snoozing Sunday
Today was perfect snoozing weather. It was raining and cold and mum was heading off to work. She made sure I had a cuddle and was all snuggled up before she headed off. I got a kiss and cuddle when she got back too. Lucky me.

Caturday
Mum found this old photo from about 8 years ago. Mum loved those quilts, especially the black and white one. Maybe it's time to change up our bedding again? Mum loves a good duvet or quilt. Some people like cushions or bikes or cars - what does your person/people like?

Afternooning
Mum has another stretch of afternoon shifts and all the changing shifts are catching up with her. She is happy to have a sleep in but being at work until 11pm has got harder as she has got older. Unfortunately their are no opportunities to be just doing day shifts in her job. Boy she needs a lottery win!!!

Little Lockdown
Our city has a little lockdown from 6pm this evening until midnight Sunday. A traveller from Sydney spent the weekend here and returned home only to test positive for Covid. Luckily he left a long list of places he visited.
Mum must be psychic as she had checked her toilet paper stash last night and was happy with her 18 double rolls. She did go to the supermarket after work and although busy it wasn't crazy. She only needed a few items and was glad to leave quickly.

Double Feature
Mum worked Saturday night, so was given today as her leave day. She had a little sleep in and then headed to the cinema where she had booked some tickets. She was most looking forward to seeing Days of the Bagnold Summer, a story about a frumpy mum and her angst filled, Metallica tshirt wearing son and their holiday stuck together. Alas the slow paced movie made mum nod off and she missed much of the middle part of the show.So mum made sure to eat and drink during the break between shows. The 2nd movie was Herself, a story about a young Irish mother. After being assaulted by her husband she searches for a home for her and her two young daughters. A story we all understand as the housing crisis is an International problem. Mum stayed awake for this one - 4/5.

Howling
This time it's not me howling it's the weather whipping around outside. Mum has only opened the door once to put some food out for the birds. The rest of the day has been spent reading and napping. Perfect winter plans.

Caturday
Mum did nothing much today. Some washing and tidying up and then by time she had lunch and a shower it was time for work. Busy but time went fast and now back home to me. The wet weather has set in and mum has plans to do nothing tomorrow and plant her but on the couch all day. Me too mum.

From the Archives
It's a chilly night here in the city and mum was looking through the archive photos. She loves this old one of me warming up by our old heater. All heaters are on tonight. Mum is going to turn the alarm off so that she may have a luxurious sleep in tomorrow. She is covering a shift for a friend, and looking forward to a day off during the week.

Thwarted
These were mums photos of the firemen tiding up and it looked like the action was almost over. Mum hadn't smelt the fire, the wind must have blown it all in the other direction. Apparently there was no one home and no other homes were affected. The suspicious thing was there was another similar fire in another suburb last week, where two homes were destroyed.
These were the dramatic photos in the paper. We are glad that everyone was safe.
So mums going to try an early night tonight. Paws crossed for no drama.

Nice
Lots of winter sleeping happening here. The weather is perfect for snoozing. Ask your person for a bag - I know you'll love it.

Naughty
Mum would prefer that I don't go up the steps at the side of our house that lead up to the street. My street days are over now I am old. I used to love lying on the road or sitting next to cars in other houses we lived in. Luckily our little street here is quiet, but as I am slower now and easily spooked mum prefers that I stay in our backyard.
Tonight when mum took out the rubbish I made a dash upwards. Mum knew that chasing me would only make me move faster, so she just opened the door and made some noise in the kitchen. Back inside I came. Sneaky.

Reading
Winter is the season for mum to try to go to bed early and read a good book. She is enjoying this one very much.

Caturday
It was a good day for sniffing the grass. It started off drizzling then it cleared to be warm and sunny and mum got too hot. She brunched with a bestie then came home for a nap. Last weeks night shifts are still kicking her in the butt. Caturday Night 10pm and she is ready for bed. Just like me.

Relaxation
Mum and I have just been chilling. Today was sunny and warm, so unusual for this time of year. It seems that Australia is getting all the rough weather at the moment with snow and rain.

Easy
I'm taking things easy at the moment. Winter means big sleep ins and staying inside, although we have been lucky and had a mild start to the season.

Neighbors
Mum stopped to chat to these adorable neighbors on her walk yesterday. Little sweeties who looked to be taking a break from the two rowdy puppies they live with.

Quiet
Yippee mums night shifts are over and she is tired after 7 days of busy shift work. She came home and talked to me for a bit, then she got a couple of hours sleep. She got up for a shower and got dressed, and had a little walk round the garden with me and then she walked into town.
She went to the movies to see A Quiet Place 2 at the movies. A creepy movie meant mum didn't nod off and she enjoyed it. She got some fried rice for her dinner and came home. I got my feast and I went to bed. Mum is nodding off now and is hoping to get some sleep tonight too.

Walking
Mum went to meet a bestie to look around the art show this afternoon. The sun was shining so she walked along the waterfront on her way. There were lots of beautiful pictures, but none were right for us. Mum then had dinner out before coming home to dish out the feast.

Tired Girls
Mums tired from all the shifts, but 3 more night shifts to go until days off. She slept in for a while this morning- me too. Looks like there will be lots more snoozing to be done over the weekend.

Tuesday
Mum had a ok day at work. Another afternoon shift so when she got home. I got dinner as soon as she walks through the door. I then like her to tell me about her day while she gives me a brush. Then I sleeps.
