Daylight Savings
Daylight Savings started this morning so mum knows it us going to be another reason for her to be tired this week. She watched The Secret Life of Pets 2 last night and this scene perfectly pictured how she felt this morning.

Smooch
Had a little smooch with my birdie today. Windy and cool here today. Mum had some plans, but decided to stay home and relax. Not every day needs to be busy. She read her book and talked to me. Perfect.

Pocket Money
Mum I found something on the internet that I needs you to get me. Can you use my pocket money to buy me one? P.S - it's the massager I want - not the clothes.

Chilling
Mum has had another shift. She is trying to look at the positives - a sleep in, time to get some chores done and brunch with me.

Ear Savers
Mum has been busy in the evenings this past week. These are ear savers - knitted bands that save your ears. She has to wear masks at work the whole day and mum finds her ears are sore, and she was getting tension headaches. So mum has knitted about 30 of these bands in the past week to give free to her colleagues. The ladies at the local sewing shop have laughed each time mum comes in for buttons. She had to have a night off tonight as she was tired, but has plans to make some more the rest of the week.

New Toy
Mum went out to have a wander today and ended up at the pet store which had a teeny tiny cat section. She wasn't going to get anything, but felt bad if she didn't get me a gift. She got me this birdie which has big feathers on the tail and is stuffed with catnip. Friends - I loved it and rolled around on the bed with it for a half hour and then fell asleep using it as a pillow.

Caturday
Today has been chill. Mum relaxed between the household chores. Even though the spring sun was out it was still chilly and cooler inside our old house but warm in the sun. Mum filled the washing line with washing. She loves being sble to get it dried outside after 6 months of drying it in the living room.
If she gets up early enough tomorrow she might head out for some fresh air. She feels in need of some treats.

Icy
Gosh it's been cold here the past two days. A blast from the south has made us turn the heaters back on and mum has reached for the jacket and boots again. We'll be glad when the weather settles again.

Seven
Mum has managed only seven hours sleep over the past two nights. Both days she has started work at 7am and the thought of sleeping in keeps her awake. The changing start and finish times of mums work make a routine almost impossible. That's why tonight it's 11.45pm and mum is still up and doing the dishes while I've been in bed since 5pm.

Blossom
Mum saw her first blossoms this morning. It was hard to get a photo as it was so windy. Mum ventured out to get some fresh air and give me a break.

Today
Today mum attempted the brushing. I only tolerated 5 minutes and then needed a snooze. The sun was lovely, but soon the cloud and winds rolled in. Spring weather can be a bit crazy.

Pinch
Mum gave me a brush today and noticed my bottom is still a bit sticky, so some dingle berries got pinched and I got a bit of a clean. Phase 2 tomorrow is a more detailed brushing. Only if she can catch me?

Paws
Mum needs a pause. She's four days into another boutique of evening shift and she's in need of a few sleep ins. No alarms for the next five days.

Bagwash
My bag had to have an emergency bag wash this evening as I had an episode of what mum describes as sticky butt. My bag was a bit stinky so it got washed. The good thing is it's a quick dry bag and an hour later was back in its rightful position on the mama bed.

Fine
Mum you head off to work. I'll be fine. Mum did not enjoy the 6am alarm clock. Her fitbit said she'd only managed a 3.5 hour sleep. I can do 7 times that in a day.

Sunday
For 3 hours this afternoon it was perfect and felt like spring. Mum felt the change coming, the sun and blue skies are getting better each week. Washing when dried on the line outside.

Lie In
The mumster was tired this morning after another afternoon shift. So I decided to meow at her for 10 minutes and then lie down and snooze while she read her book. Then she thought she best get up and do some chores. Before she knew it it was time for work again. I'll be glad that she has a whole day off to relax tomorrow.

Hello September
Well we've got signs of spring happening here. Tui birds are singing loudly in the mornings, the sun is getting warmer and moving round and mum feels like eating more salads and less soup. Mum is back on some afternoon shifts again and she is trying to see the positives and enjoy sleeping in.

Three
Three days of having mum home. I'm enjoying it and mum is loving having the alarm turned off. She is thinking of getting up early tomorrow to head to the supermarket early. We'll see if she manages that. She better fo a shopping list tonight so that she keeps to the budget and has some tasty meals in the fridge. Lockdown food at the supermarket has less specials and food prices are pretty steep at the moment.

Lockdown Sunday
Mum has enjoyed her Sunday lockdown. She did wake up at 7.30am, but mucked about watching tiktoks and reading and didn't get up until 11am which was lovely. I came in and sat on her several times before she got up. She got uniforms and clothes washed, carpets hovered and windows washed before sitting down to episodes of mediocre TV.
Tonight after dinner She found the above picture on the NZ Police Twitter page. Lockdown for us is ok, mum is still working as usual and can get to the supermarket easily. She wishes she could go the garden center and library on her days off, and she fancies some pad Thai and a roti, but she knows how lucky we are to have full cupboards and a copy home. She also likes being at home - me too!!

Sure?
For reals mum? You have a whole four days off now? No 5am alarms this week? I can ask for dinner at 2.30pm ? It's the best Caturday news ever.

Secret Snuggles
This is my extra special secret snuggle bed. When mums old electric blanket broke, she whipped it off the bed and replaced it with the new one.
The old one got left on the spare bed, ready to be thrown away. But oh no mum - it's mine and s favorite sleeping spot. It's not plugged in, it has no special features besides it being slightly fluffy.

Swap
Mum was meant to starting tomorrow at 7am, but her shift got swapped, so instead now mum is looking forward to a lie in. She can turn off the 5am alarm. Yippee!!

Sleepathon
Mum says I'm allowed to sleep as much as I want, as I'm almost 15 years old and it's still cold outside. We are so ready for spring and warm sun.

Forgetful
Mum was so busy pottering about on her Caturday she forgot to post. The weather was lovely but she was locked down at home. The floors were mopped and hoovered and all the uniforms got washed and hung out in the fresh air to dry. Me - I got some fresh air and sunshine too.

Morning Mum
How comes you up at 6am mum? Everyone in the city is staying home, in fact most people in the whole country are still tucked up in bed.
Well my poppy princess the mum mumster is an essential worker so she has to go to work and wear a mask from 7.30am til she gets home at 5pm. So keep the house warm and cozy and I'll be home with the feast and ready for the weekend together. Mum loves you. Xxxx

Feast
Well we're in a little lockdown here in NZ. We watched the world's media mock us for locking down after finding one community case, we get it. But you see by the next day it was 10 cases and today 21. So we sense this will last longer than the 3 days we are starting with.
Mum regretted that Monday she was too tired to go to the supermarket, Tuesday it was too wet and Wednesday she planned to go after work, but the supermarket shut early. She went today after work and it wasn't too bad. No lines, straight in. She didn't need toilet paper but was a bit low on the feast. She got fresh fruit, veg, meat and bread, and a bunch if fancy feast tins. Crisis averted.

Catoflage
Mum gave me a new towel for my bed and now she has to look close to see if I am on my little bed. I love me a big towel.
So now we are in lockdown again. This time hopefully for 3 days. Mum should have gone to the supermarket today. Oh well.

Windy Again
Well it's wildly windy out there again. The weather pattern seems to be 1 or two nice sunny days then 3 days of stormy weather. The little Uber mum got home tonight just about got blown about.

Sunny Sunday
It's been a quiet weekend. The nights are still chilly and mum has been watching The Godfather I + II. She had never watched them all the way through and thought she would try this weekend. She enjoyed the first movie, the 2nd was a bit drawn out and too long. She was mesmerized by a young Al Pacino.

Caturday
Mum did a couple of loads of washing. She hung them inside, then hung them outside then back inside again. I watched her and then went back to snoozing again.

Bright
When it's not raining the sun is shining bright. I'm enjoying the warm rays and we are longing for spring to arrive.

Arrival
The microwave arrived yesterday. Boy it was heavy and the box was an awkward size. Mum was glad that she got the courier to deliver it. Now what to do with the old one ? She'll have to organize a man with a van to take it to the dump.
