Cosy Corner
I spend a lot of time in this cozy corner. My special bed has an electric heated pad in it for my 14 year old creaky bones, two quilts, a crochet blanket and topped with a towel. Mum says I am like the princess and the pea.

Friday
Mum did not get called in last night which made her happy, but her fitbit says she only got 4 and a half hours sleep last night. The good thing was that work was busy today so she did not notice how tired she was. Once she got home though she was incapable of doing much. She gave me my dinner and a couple of cuddles.
The only chore mum succeeded in doing tonight was a load of underwear washing. Uniforms and sheets will be done tomorrow when the sun is meant to be shining. Mum watched a program on TV this week where the kids only washed their sheets once a year. Gross.

Sun
A bit of sunshine today to warm my elderly furs. Mum worked an afternoon shift this afternoon and got home late. We both filled our bellies with a late night supper. Mum hopes to get some sleep as she is on call tonight and us due back at work at 8am.

Winter Rut
It's got to that dreary part of the winter where it is dark when mum leaves and gets home. She's a bit over it all. Yesterday ended up warm and sunny giving us a taste of spring which is only about 5 weeks away. Me - well I'll sleep whatever the weather.

Games
Mums only watched a bit of the games, swimming and gymnastics tonight. She admires all the young people who have trained under unusual circumstances and who are doing their best to represent their countries. She's been also watching a few of their tiktoks too where you get to see more if the athletes village.
How about you guys? Watching the games too?

Caturday
The sun was shining through the windows today. It was a bit of a nothing day for us today. Mum didn't fall asleep until 5am and she was pretty tired all day so she just pottered about and did it a little housework. Fingers crossed she sleeps tonight.

Pink
I was a good girl today and let mum sleep the day away after her nightshift. Well until 2pm when I meowed at her for 10 minutes to tell her something very important.

Gift
Mum thanked me for the gift I bought her last night at 10.30pm. I got praise for 3.5 minutes before she had to find her raincoat to take it back to its final resting space.

Street Cat
Mum met another grey beauty on her way to work at lunchtime. No time to stop for pat's, just time for a few quick photos.

Wet
Holy moly it's wet outside. I only had to go out once and I'm going to stay tucked up warm inside. Mum had to go to work and got an uber in as it was bucketing down, so hard it was difficult for the driver to see, but they got to work safely. Roads across the city are flooded and some towns in the south island have had to evacuate due to flooding. We are safe where we live up on top of a hill though so don't worry about us.

Friday
Mum took this photo last week when the skies were blue. Today it has been raining and the wind is whipping round at 140km/hr. Mum caught an uber home and the wind blew the door shut onto her sore shoulder - ouch!!
Mum liked this photo as it shows the small gap between our house and the house next door.

Day Off
Mums day off started with a sleep in. Then she did some chores - a Hoover of the carpet, made the bed and opened the windows to get some fresh air moving about. She had some clothes to return to the post office, which is really the bookstore as post offices have seemed to have disappeared now. A visit to the library is mandatory, always reserved books to pick up and drop off. The supermarket wasn't too busy, but cat food seems in short supply and expensive, so even though there aren't too many cans of feast in my cupboard mum will wait until it is on special again.
Mum tried to resist but after lunch she had to have a nap. I woke her up though at 4.30pm ready for my dinner. I licked all the jelly off a sachet of something leaving the meaty bits behind. Mum made herself a new pasta dish but did not really like the supermarket pasta sauce she added. She had made too much, and now has to eat it for the next 4 meals.

Snoring
Mum could hear snoring tonight but couldn't see me. I was sleeping behind the heater all cozy and warm.

Chilly
It's sunny in the afternoon, but cold. Mum gets home and the heaters always whipped on. The curtains are drawn and I'm happy to have some warm places to snuggle. Outside time is really limited at the moment- it's just too cold for me.

Bagged
Mum forgot to show you. When our new woolly blanket got delivered, I got to explore the awesome bag it came in. Mum saves all of these delivery bags to either recycle or use for rubbish. I was only allowed a 1/2hour supervised playtime in it. I'll have to make do with my other bags.

Yes or No?
Mum found a duvet cover online that made her smile. She is trying to decide if she needs it. What do you think

Neighbor
Little tabby cat lives in the flats next to us. She likes to sit and look over the back gardens in the afternoon and soak up the winter sun. We know we are lucky to have our small bit of back garden to enjoy.

Farewell Visit
Mum and I had a farewell visit to our vets this afternoon. I've been going for the whole 14 years that I have been alive, and mum took her old girl Puss there before me. They have been a part of the community for 50 years and will be sorely missed. She took these photos so we have a reminder of our visits. Can you find me in the shots?
I just needed a senior check today and my arthritis injection. I was a good girl for the vet and told I was in good health for my age. Mum thanked them for helping me, but truthfully she felt teary, she is no good at goodbyes as she has got older.
Do you want to know something sweet? On the way there she put her finger in the carrier and I put my paw on her finger and held it there for the rest of the journey.

Caturday
It's Caturday and winter seems to have arrived. We've been having frosty cold nights but the days are sunny, but somewhat chilly. Good weather for soup and bagels says the munster. Good for sleeping and fancy feast says Poppyq.
Mum worked all day, so tonight she gave herself a facial scrub, lit the candles, put the movie Arrival on , got some Pepsi max out and is about to grab some chocolate out of the fridge (Whitakers berry and biscuit). Go mum!!

Hello July
Welcome July, we're ready for you. Thanks for the polar blast to start with. It's cool with temperatures dropping to about 3degC overnight which is chilly for us. There has been some sunshine in the afternoon which was welcome.
Mum got an email this afternoon to say that our vets are closing down at the end of the month which is sad. I have gone to see them my whole life and as they are just a 5 minute ride away the taxi ride to get there and back was not too expensive. The sad bit for mum is that the vet had a cattery attached to it. Finding cattery places in our city is difficult. Luckily covid has restricted travel, so mum has no holidays planned, so she is trying not to get anxious about something that may not happen.
