Can you feel the summer approaching in this photo taken this afternoon? That special blue and cotton clouds, and it was warm too. Mum even has her shorts and birkenstocks on.
Mum was going to have an early night last night, but she thought she would stay up to see the mini lunar eclipse. She went out at 10pm and went for a walk around the neighborhood but could not locate the moon, it seemed hidden by the large hill behind our house. She did stay up until 1am watching a long episode of Downton Abbey. She's rewatching the whole series and enjoying it very much. So she slipped outside to stand in the garden and saw the moon sitting over the flats next door. It was big and bright and still had part of the eclipse visible. It felt special to see something only seldom seen.
I am glad she got a glimpse. I wish you both a lovely weekend and happy watching!
ReplyDeleteThe sky looks lovely with the promise of things to come. I am glad your mum was able to see part of the eclipse. We had heavy cloud last night but I don't think it would have been visible in this part of the world anyway.
ReplyDeleteWe can feel the warmth of the sun, Poppy, and we need some warmth now.
ReplyDeleteThe biped got to see a bit of the lunar eclipse, even got a couple of fuzzy pics, though she tried hard for one in focus. We heard that this particular eclipse won't happen again until 2600-something. A long time!
We saw the moon come up however by the time the night Road by and the eclipse was supposed to start at 4 a.m., we had nothing better thick dark cloudy sky. It stayed that way the entire day. That's winter time coming for you. Glad your mum enjoyed her TV series and got to look outside at the eclipse. Enjoy the warm weather for us.
ReplyDeleteHow nice that the your mum was able to see that bit of the eclipse, Poppy. Enjoy that beautiful weather. Winter is coming here, so we are staying mostly inside.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, that photograph looks like summer is warming up. Here, there is no snow, but tthe wind is blowing and it's cold.
