I dud go and hide in my jungle today but the weather was grey and very windy. I have a special spot that mum calls my nest, and so she knows where to find me. I am often to be found out here between 1-3pm although mum knows that sometimes I will be out here when she gets home from work. It is good to get some fresh air and watch out for introoders who like to saunter across my garden and check out my cat door.
Today was her day off which consisted of finishing one book, starting another , leftovers of last night dinner of sweet and sour pork for her lunch and dinner today, a movie on the couch Gloria Bell, and general pottering about. Me well I slept in too, ate, slept, drunk, slept, snoozed, slept.
We hope that you all had a fun Caturday.

Spring Cleaning
After days of rain we got a bit of sunshine on mums day off. Most of the washing was out on the line. Mum even took my bed outside for a shake out and a bit of fresh air. I checked it out and then spent the rest of the day snoozing in the jungle.

Baby Poppy
That was me as an itty bitty kitty out exploring in the garden. There was no exploring today. It was super wet with huge rains here overnight. We wish we could send some of our rains across the Tasman Sea to our friends in Australia who are experiencing huge bushfires. They are in dire need of all the water that seems to be sitting over our country.

Rubbish
The weather has been terrible, lots of rain and grey skies. So not much time to be out in the garden lately and we are longing for a run of sunny days. It has got a wee bit warmer though which is nice, as mum has not had the heater on in days. She will however continue to heat my little bed so I have somewhere nice and warm to snuggle up in. Mum is a bit glum that she has had to start wearing her coat too and from work at the moment, as she wants a break from it.

Caturday
Is is sad to say that Mum had already eaten her dinner at 5pm and was nodding off on the couch while watching the news? To be fair she did only get 4 hours sleep and had to be up at 6am to head to work, and worked all day. She stopped an got a chicken satay burger on the way home which she enjoyed very much. She had baked some meatballs she got from the supermarket last night, and had leftovers she thought she would eat tonight, but when she went to bed last night her tummy was a bit sore, so she thought she would not push it. Melon and grapes for supper tonight so that she gets her 5+ fruit and veg in today.
So she is not going to push it tonight. A quick hoover of the carpets and a tidy up and she might have a shower and then sit down and watch a movie and try to have an early night. That's the plan anyway.
Me well I'm taking it easy too. I had my supper and a snooze too - its just what I do. Do you like this old photo? It is me and my Poppy quilt that my friend Leanne made me.

Stella
Mum found this article on People about Stella - the dog who can talk to her person. Her person is a speech language therapist and she made Stella a special board with 29 talking buttons, so she can tell her people when she wants food, or a cuddle, or a nap, to go outside or the beach. Mum watched the videos over and over again.
I wonder when they will make a pussy cat board? Mine would say feast, drink drink (water), outside, introoder, treats, sleep, cuddle, happy, tired, stranger, blankie, heater and Mum. What would yours say?

Cancellation
Mum cancelled the pre booked vet visit that she had made for me this morning. She says that things have settled down and she is pretty happy with me . She does have to take me on Friday for a morning post op checkup so they can check that my mouth is ok.
Mum had the day off, and stayed home. The vet bills were a bit hefty this time, so she thought that if she went out she would spend money that she should be saving. She is desperate for groceries, so after work tomorrow she will get some fresh foods for her, and some feasts for me. She is thinking about stuffed baked potatoes maybe? Or maybe some chicken and vegetables. She had to eat a pre cooked frozen meal for her dinner, that although it filled the gap it wasn't particularly appetizing.

Drinker
Tonight was the first night mum has witnessed me drink some water since Wednesdays surgery. So she will sleep better tonight knowing things are almost back to normal.

Betterer
I am feeling a bit betterer today. I ate a little last night, and even came up to ask to go under the covers last night. I only stayed for 11 seconds before I got out and slept on my bag.
This morning I woke mum up at 5.30am for breakfast and ate a 1/2 can of feast and mum is maybe ignoring that I ate around a few bits of pills. It was all eaten up when she got home from work, so we think that the neighbor cat might be getting a dose of antibiotics. Oh well.
Tonight I had my dinner, but when mum went to syringe in my pain relief, I had a little coughing/vomiting fit, which lasted for 5 minutes, then mum tackled me and just shoved it in resulting in most of it now being on her pillowcase.
So tonight she gave in and let me have a couple of temptations which I gobbled up, so she let me have a few biscuits. It is now 4 days since my operation and 6 days since I have had some crunchy biscuits, so hopefully it will fill up my tummy. Mum figures that I wouldn't eat them if my mouth was too sore.
So hopefully we are getting more back to normal which will make my mum happy.
She is watching the rugby. Who would have expected this in the final? Good on South Africa. We love a good game, and this one is quite entertaining.

Relapse
Mum was a bit worried about me today as she has noticed that I hadn't been drinking a lot either. I wasn't interested in my breakfast either, but that could have been because of the little pink pills in it. I moped about all day mostly sleeping. Mum was going to go out today but stayed home to stay with me and check I was ok.
She did ring the vets this morning but they reassured mum that I would be ok. Mum did book me in for Monday morning though just in case. If she waits to ring on Monday then there won't be any spots left. I haven't done any worrying things like crying or pawing at my mouth.
The good news is that I ate my dinner, with pills in it and mum got me to take my pain relief. So mum is leaving me to get a good nights rest and feel better tomorrow.

Recovery
So I slept pretty well last night, although mum kept an eye on me. My biscuits have been taken away as they are a bit too crunchy. So I woke up at 6.30am to ask for some foods. I was allowed feast for my breakfast even though mum smuggled my pills into it.
Mum zipped out to the supermarket for a while today and then came back and sat on the computer while I snuggled next to her.
I was a bit feisty tonight at pain relief time. Good luck with the syringe tomorrow Mum.
Thank you all for your kind well wishes.

Post Operation
Hello my friends. It has been a tough 24 hours. Last time I had to go and have a senior check mum got told that it was time I had my teeth operated on. Mum agreed to book it in, but was understandably nervous, as I am now 13 and have both a heart murmur and an arrhythmia. The last time I had a dental operation, mum had starved me at home from 10pm, and I did not like it. I jumped on her all night and howled for 8 hours straight. This time mum felt incredibly guilty, but she booked me into the cattery the night before.
She told them to go ahead and do what was needed, so when the phone went off at 1.30pm mum was thinking the worst. Instead it was the vet ringing to say that they had tried to extract the tooth, but the root was stuck and unable to be fully removed as it was so crumbly. Mum said that they should do whatever they thought was best - what else could she say? So I am minus a tooth.
So when she picked me up it was only at 4pm, but boy was she pleased to see me. She got me home and tried to keep me still and quiet, although I did annoy her by trying to do a couple of wobbly walks and jumping onto the bed and missing. She got me settled and I had a big sleep.
She has come into see me a couple of times, and every time she talks to me I purr and purr at her. I ate a half a fancy feast for dinner, and even took my pain relief ok, even if a little bit dribbled onto my chin. Good luck with the antibiotics in the next couple of days though mum.
So at the moment I am tucked up in my little warm bed next to the heater. This photo was taken when I got home. I wanted my bag and my mum and a little sleep. Mum will take care of me tonight and let you know how I am tomorrow. Nite Nite!!

Spot
There is a soft little spot just under my ear that sometimes I tolerate my mum giving it a little rub or even a tiny kiss. Mum gave it lots of little kisses today and told me she loved me.
