It is the official last day of summer here in Kiwiland, and this big lots of cloud and rain rolled in about 6pm making it dark early and reminding us of the weather to come. We know though that our friends in the north have had a pretty wicked winter and are awaiting their six months of warmness.
We slept in and mum mucked around for the day. She did go for a walk this afternoon while the weather was warmer and got some chores done and more groceries bought. This evening has been quiet, while mum reads blogs some eggs are boiling so that she has a nice lunch for work tomorrow (mashed eggs + tomato in a roll for lunch). Dinner is planned for the next two nights and the uniforms are all ready to be worn.
Hope you are all ready for the weekend - Caturday is tomorrow. Woo hoo!!
I must say Poppy!x You are very good with a camera, lovely sky photos!
ReplyDeleteAnd, yep, as l peep through the Paddington Bear curtains the sun's out in ALL it's glory! And, the days a getting longer...
Hope it's nice tomorrow as well....
Paws crossed that you have a mild fall and winter - maybe a little wetter than our too-dry weather here in southern California, but not too cold and not too much rain!
ReplyDeleteMashed eggs? Is that like our egg salad?
ReplyDeleteWhile your summer is ending, hopefully our winter will be ending soon. Technically, it has just begun but it has been brutal all over the country. My sistersa are expecting 15 inches more of snow. I have no idea where they will put it!
At any rate, I wish you both a perfectly lovely weekend!
Six months of warmth? At this rate we'll be lucky to get three months this year. LOL.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, you two!
sure hope we don't follow the bad weather other folks have had for their winter.
ReplyDeleteThe news said bad weather was on the way I got everything all packed up and nope no rain nothing. The garden does need a spot of rain.
It's always a little sad to say goodbye to summer isn't it? Have a great weekend Miss Poppy!

ReplyDeleteIt does sound strange when you say it is the last day of summer. Our neighbours are on holiday travelling around Australia and NZ in a camper van for 2 1/2 months. They were in Ruakaka beach a couple of days ago and are now at Russell in the Bay of Islands. She retired at Christmas and now they are having the holiday of a lifetime.
ReplyDeleteHa! We wish we were getting nicer weather, more snow on the way for us!
ReplyDeleteWe definitely had a spring like day up here - it was 82!
ReplyDeleteI do like rainstorms, especially the dark, for boding kind - but I prefer them to come at the start or in the middle of summer, so that there's plenty of summer left.
