Sleeps

Mum says the combination of middle aged lady brain hormones  and disturbed sleep after 5 nights of being on call is a killer.  She tossed and turned til close to 4am this morning, before her eyes finally closed.  The good thing about having some days off is there is not the added stress of knowing you have to get up hours later to start your day.  So in order to avoid napping in the afternoon, and to burn off energy she went for a big long walk around the place.  It was a lovely afternoon, and with rain clouds threatening to ruin the next few days, mum took her chances outside.

Me - well I have been camping on the number one spot.  Mum says it is unusual for me to sleep up here alongside her, especially as it means she can reach over and pat me during the night.  Still she is happy if I am happy.

So it is close to midnight and mum says she feels it is time to turn in, read her book for a while and then she should be ready to sleep soon.  Sweet sleeps everybuddy.

  1. Poppy, dear, your mum is calculating that pretty sheets + purring cat =sweet dreams. She is also wise to seek fresh air and exercise as an antidote to those horrible hormones! (It's like getting a nose full of bad 'nip.)

  2. It is tough having to switch back and forth between night time sleeping and daytime sleeping. For humans, that is. Cats sleep both of those times!

  3. I am glad your human is taking it easy on her time off in a way that will help her energy! My human would love to go for a walk outside, but the weather here in Southern California is exceptionally cold so she is stuck getting her exercise indoors.

  6. Enjoy your sleeps and snuggles Poppy and mum! Our mom bean says she read a book where the author suggested counting backwards from 400 by 3's when trying to get to sleep. She says it works most of the time. We is glad we is kitties and don't have to try such silly things!
