Roly Poly Goals
Because mum realised that us girls are a bit holy moly roly poly she has been trying to move around a bit more. That includes me having to chase a ribbon as she dances round the living room with it. She says it is fun for me - I'm not sure if it is working. She is tempted to start doing an easy yoga course on you tube. She has been out and got some stretchy pants, but has yet to start on the videos, but this will be the her goal by the end of the weekend. Mum has had a bad back for a couple of years, and the past few weeks it has been sore, so she needs to start doing some stretches otherwise she is going to be a old lady who can't touch her toes.

HaHa! You made me chuckle Poppy!x
ReplyDeleteMum..Dancing round with ribbon...How
much ribbon...! Still if it helps her, that's
fine. But, l think you've got the right idea,
roll about on the floor with it..Perhaps Mum
should try that! :).
Stretching is good! I think you can teach your human to do that, Poppy. It is something we kitties do very, very well.
ReplyDeleteSummer is right! Gentle yoga will feel wonderful. Our biped needs to make more of an effort in that regard. She's been wondering if a Fitbit would be worth it, but oh, they're so expensive, at least here. Ridiculously overpriced.
ReplyDeletePoppy, dear, I greatly sympathize with you and your mum in your battles with the roly-poly's. Like your mum, I sometimes come home from work very late -- and very hungry! Alas, if I eat, then go to bed, the scales are scary the following morning. Haven't tried ribbon dancing yet, but I can assure your mum that Tai Chi is lots easier on middle-aged ladies' middles than yoga.
ReplyDeleteYou´re so so so cute!
ReplyDeletePerhaps your mum could look into exercises specifically for people with bad backs. She doesn't want to make it worse.
ReplyDeleteCould your Mum ask a friendly physical therapist at her hospital for some back friendly exercises? The department frequently has exercise hand outs .

ReplyDeleteGood on your mum. Our silly mom bean bought a mat, a book about yoga, fixed up a special room and everything....and hasn't been down there since!

We should all be doing our exercises. Sigh.... My mum should be doing a bit more. But I like my rest. From Jessica
ReplyDeleteWith all the walking she does I am surprised she is roly poly!
ReplyDeletePoppy, we LOVE Mommy's yoga mat...the best scratch pad ever!
ReplyDeleteMommy recommends YogaGlo on line--they have some free things and the paid classes are good too.
