Solution

Mum wasn't sure why I was not using my cat bed - the one I loved just four weeks ago.  So tonight she dropped a towel in it and watched me watching it.  It took 10 looks, 15 minutes and now here I am having a good old lick ready for a sleep.  Score says mum!!!

    Yes, my kitties get tired of their own fur and want fresh towels. And they love to sleep on corrugated cardboard, too...
