Caturday Mumster Night In

So mums bugs are finally retreating, leaving her with the 20 day cough - you know, one that lingers for another three weeks before it finally departs.  She worked late last night and stayed up watching a couple of programs on the tele to switch her brain off.

Us girls managed a nice sleep in this morning, and mum had a shower and got a couple of chores done.  Washing got put on the line as the sun was partly peaking through and there was a bit of a breeze.  She took herself out for a walk in the fresh air.  She was heading to the market to restock on olive oil and managed to buy herself 2 nightshirts, a tshirt, a pair of leggings and a scarf (all on sale), as well as her oil and a cronut at the market.

She then popped into the supermarket to get something tasty for her dinner.  I was dished up a feast which made me happy.  She cooked herself some roasty sweet potatoes, broccoli and carrots and a small piece of steak, leaving enough for tomorrow nights dinner when she is on shift.  Candles were lit and she sat down and watched The Hunt for the Wilderpeople on the apple tv, which she had been waiting for to see for ages.  She did enjoy it and loved the 13 year old lead - he was awesome.

So now as the evening winds down, mum is going to make the bed for us and is keen to settle down with her book.  So even though it is a quiet night in, she has enjoyed being able to relax at home with me!!

Hope you all had a lovely Caturday and did something fun!

  2. Poppy, dear, it's grand to see that your mum is on the mend! One hates to waste a day being ill -- when one could be out and about, or chillin' with a furry friend. Her menu matches mine today. I do like to find a nice steak on sale and cut it up for several meals.

  3. Poppy, it seems you both had a lovely Saturday. We're glad your mum's feeling much improved now, cough excepted. :-)

  4. I am glad your mum is on the mend, Poppy. My mum is the same and always has a horrible cough for weeks afterwards. The pansies are pretty. My mum used to call the funny faces when she was young. Don't tell her I told you, she often still calls them that now.

  6. We like your pansy garden - here it is fall, no flowers. Your mum certainly had a lovely day off which is always nice to hear. Have a lovely night.

  7. We are glad yer Mom is starting ta feel better. The flowers are nice. The pansies aren't available at Walmart here yet, but TBT will plant a few dozen when they are. He did buy 2 really big Mums though. $3.84 each for beautiful 18" wide ones just coming into bloom. He is putting them in 5 gallon buckets so that they can grow for transplanting outside in November.
