Fight

Mum has turned a corner, her throat has started to calm down and the laryngitis is leaving.  She finished work at 4pm today and as it was payday treated herself to a burger, which was tasty after a week of soup she enjoyed a more solid meal.  So she was warm and comfortable with a full belly and her body desperately wanted a nap.   Sleep has been hard for her for the past week, she has had trouble sleeping at night due to all the coughing, but has found it easy to sleep during the day.  So tonight she really didn't want to lie down, in case she can't sleep tonight.  She fought and fought it, but finally at 7pm had to go and lie down and slept til 10pm.  I curled up next to her and slept on her book so she couldn't read it.

So now, she will sit up up for a couple of hours before heading back to bed.  Luckily she is on shift tomorrow night, so doesn't have to be up early.  So us girls can have a little sleep in which will be nice.

Mum has been listening to a few podcasts and reading things on line that say that a nap is just a little sleep of less than 30 minutes or so, which mum never could do.  Like me it has to be an hour or so to get a decent rest.  How about you guys?  Do you ever nap/sleep for a little while or find it too hard to sleep later?

  1. Ah! So pleased everything getting better for Mum Poppy!x
And, she enjoyed a burger...That's good, l love burgers,
    Scooby~Doo type burgers! :).

I don't sleep much, never have, l'm a very light sleeper,
slightest noise, l'm awake. When my George used to jump off
the bed to got out, l'd be awake. Up l'd get, let him out
the dinning room window, and go back to bed, some time later,
l'd hear the door handle on the back door rattle..down l'd
go to let him back in..then back to bed!
And, l don't nap, can't sleep in a chair, have to be laid down!
HeHe! Are you making notes Poppy!x Bless!x

  3. Coughs and congestion are always worse at night, I find. It's part of the deviousness of illness, attacking you the most when you need to be left alone the most.
