Today was Anzac day here in NZ and Australia. Mum would have liked to get up for the Dawn Parade or to have gone for a walk in the afternoon sun. However she has woken up to a sore throat, stuffy nose and headache. So she got up and showered and had a light lunch. She then joined me on the bed for an afternoon nap.
Mum is tired of catching cold and flu shot, but this is what happens when you work with sick people. Mum has been having an orange a day for weeks too!!

And yes! An orange a day keeps the Doctor
away...or is that an Apple! HeHe! :).
Poor mum , love and kisses. Furry ones from Millie Do hope she gets better soon. Couldn't quite understand. Does she get the flu shot. I got flu every year till they came out but I am late this year as have been in bed for ages unwell. Must try and get it.
ReplyDeleteAnzac Day makes me very sad. My dad went to Gallipoli so I was a late baby. But lucky to be here. How I miss him. My heart aches all day and night but I have his diary and an album of photos. Which he took. He was in the Canterbury na mounted rifles. How he loved his horse but they all had Ro be shot before the soldiers returned. He stayed on as a peacekeeper for another year. I can't understand why as he loved his mum and family so much.
Can I say on your blog poppy that if he had never come back I would not be here.
I think your bean will understand more than you might although you are very smart and clever and Millie wishes you could be her friend.
Hello Sally...I send this out this morning to 28 of

Poppy, we're sending your mum lots of purrs and hope she feels better too. Our biped isn't feeling well and is home from work today, not because she works directly with sick people, but because one twit co-worker keeps coming in when he's sick, thus spreading all the germs. Oy.
ReplyDeleteIs your mum drinking enough water? Frequently , at work, people forget or choose not to drink enough water. Mild to moderatate dehydration may not be obvious. Stay very well hydrated, it really cuts down on the colds.
ReplyDeletePoppy, dear, I always watch the ANZAC parade via NZ news programs: the two horses never fail to touch my heart. * The "bug" is making the rounds of our planet, alas. Lots of water, bed rest, and cuddles with the cat help. (So does real chicken soup.)
ReplyDeleteSometimes just staying home and resting is the best medicine. Mum hasn't been sick since she retired.
ReplyDeleteHi Poppy,
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear that your Mom is not feeling well. Make sure that she rests and takes extra good care of herself. You probably give her a bit extra feline therapy.
Your poor mum. We hope you comforted her today and helped her get better. We are sure many people were able to attend the dawn parade.
ReplyDeleteWe are so sorry your Mom is sick again!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear Mum's sick again. Make sure to be a good nurse to her, okay, Poppy?
