Queenie

Bless her, working right up until the end. I do wish she had more time to pat her ponies and walk her dogs.  It's weird isn't  it? It's like your own nana has died.

  1. Agreed. I feel strangely emotional over her passing. I guess that no matter what one thinks of the institution of the monarchy, the Queen herself was deeply loved. I hope she's at peace now, after a lifetime of duty and service the likes of which we will not see again, IMO.

  2. Yes it is, Poppy. There are a lot of very sad people around the world, not just in the UK.

  3. From the moment she was born - or at least from the moment her father became king - she was never out of the public eye. Never. Talk about grace under pressure - she may not have been perfect but no one could have done it better. She probably is surrounded by the horses and dogs Who Have Gone Before right now.

  4. Yes. I was saying the exact thing today. It’s like I’ve lost my grandmother all over again
She has always been there. May she Rest In Peace. A great lady

  5. The Queen's passing is heartbreaking for so many of us, all over the world. What a life she lived, and what an amazing legacy she leaves behind.

  6. Her Majesty's death is a loss to the world. And yes, her mind was sharp, her will strong, right to the end. I think she had an audience with the new British prime minister the day before she died. I really think that if she hadn't been able to carry out her duties, if she had abdicated, she would not have lived so long. Her sense of duty, her devotion to her country, were phenomenal. I think King Charles will make an excellent monarch, though he won't have as much time on the throne as his revered mother, and that likely will tell against him with many people.
