Sun Bather

Mum was on her way to work and came looking for me outside to say goodbye.  I wasn't in my usual garden hangout but she found me pretty quickly.  I was lying in the sun working on my tan.

Tired

Mum finally got to bed earlyish last night, but it was hard to sleep as the weather was very windy and noisy outside.  Worse was some banging that sounded like a door blowing open and shut, so mum got her dressing gown and slippers on and went outside to check that the garden shed was closed.  It was, so she could not find a source of the noise and got to sleep finally an hour or so later.

When she got home from work this evening, she saw that the upstairs flat had a bedroom window open that was swinging open slamming against the house.  About 8pm she heard one of the upstairs flatmates moving about, so went up to knock on the door.  Mum asked politely if they could close the window.  The girl seemed surprised to hear that it was annoying.  Mum doesn't have anything to do with the people upstairs, they seem to come and go at different times and mum never runs into them.  They seldom use the back garden, so that is mostly our space.

Thank goodness the window is shut now, so hopefully us girls will finally get some sleep tonight.

Wordless Wednesday

New Foods

Mum just rolled over last night and closed her eyes to go to sleep and she got called into work.  She got home at 4am and got some sleep before heading into work again this afternoon for a couple of hours.  She feels like a zombie tonight though, and hopes she can sleep tonight.

She got me these new biscuits to try.  Day two and I'm still eating them and even forgot to ask for my usual feast for dinner.  Mum is sure that the enthusiasm won't last too much longer.

Stormy

A storm is brewing outside tonight.  Mum has closed up all the windows and pulled the curtains tight.  She is on call tonight and hopes she doesn't get blown away if she gets called in.  I've secured my position on my bag for the night.

Stocking

Last weekend mum found this grey wool Christmas stocking.  Mum has put a couple of little treats for me and her in it.  She met her friends for an annual market visit today.  It started out nice but 3/4 of the way round it poured down and they all got soaked. 

So, mum was glad to head home and spend the afternoon mooching around with me.

Beautiful Caturday

Today was the most beautiful sunny hot day.  Mum kept the washing machine busy and did the rest of the housework.

She then headed off to meet some friends for a lively dinner and some good laughs.   She was very glad to get home.  Town was busy, full of bars full of rowdy youngsters.  Mum much prefers to spend her evenings at home.  Me too!!

We are sure that Introoder cat thinks he owns our back garden.  How rude!!!

Scent

As I jumped on the bed tonight to remind mum to switch off the computer and get some sleep, she caught a whiff of something and asked me "am I smelling pooh or jellimeat (fancy feast)?  It is so hard to tell".   Mum is thrilled at the thought of having to lift the covers shortly so that I can crawl on top of her and spread the odour throughout the bed. 

Table

The landlord came round this week and looked at the table which mum said was getting very wobbly and mum won't use it as it might collapse.  She did say that it was a great place for me to sunbathe on and that it made a mighty scratching post.

Wordless Wednesday

Bob

This beautiful boy is Bob from the wonderful Bob and Sophies French Adventure Blog, which mum loved to read every night.  Bob and his sister Sophie shared their walks in the French countryside as well as views of the pastries on offer at the French bakeries they went to each day.  They loved to chase the cats in their garden, even though they never managed to catch one.

So our friend Bob got rather sick last week, and even though the Vets worked hard, it was his time to head to the bridge.  So mum cried more tears when she read the posts about his passing, and this afternoon when she was walking home, her eyes started leaking .  She did feel better coming home and seeing me, and I got a big cuddle (which I did not enjoy), and a few extra treats.  More tears tonight when she read the post about his Vets last visit.  For all of its sadness there is some beauty in the kindness of their French friends, such a beautiful post to honor Bob.   

Dumplngs

Today would have been our Gdad (mums dad) 78th birthday, so mum went out and got some dumplings to cook for her dinner, as he loved dumplings.  When he would visit our city mum would take him out to his favorite Chinese restaurant for tea.  One night before they headed to a concert, mum suggested that rather than having a filling main for tea, that instead they chose about 4 types of dumplings and had a dumpling feast.  He grinned like a Cheshire cat all night.

Nicki

Our lovely friend Kim at Musings on a Small Life had to say goodbye to her lovely boy Nicki this weekend.  She was a great mum to him, tending to his many health issues and providing a safe and loving home for him and his brother Derry.  We really feel for her, but know that she gave him a great life.  Goodbyes are always hard and we send her all of our love.

Caturday

Mums friends dropped by to help mum get the garden ready for summer with some flowers and a chair to sit and read her book in.  Perfect.

Towel

I am an equal opportunity lover of towels and bed linen.  Mum caught me snuggling with more wet washing this week.  I am making my love eyes at her, so she left me alone with the towel for an hour.

Worker

Mums working again tonight and it will be midnight when she gets home.  Midnight fancy feast before bed for me.  Mmmmm!!!

Wordless Wednesday

Spoilt

Mum was going to call the post double bagging until she googled the term and discovered it was a bit too rude.  Instead she thought she would show how much she loves me by letting me sleep on her shopping bag next to my bag on the big bed.

Day Off

Mum had her day off today which was good. She got to meet her bestie for lunch out and even though it rained they did some shopping and laughed as being middle aged ladies they were shopping at the garden centre and at the supermarket.

It was too rainy to be out in the jungle today so I just napped on the big bed.

Happiness

Happiness is mum letting you rest on the wet sheet on the outside table in the sun.  She's a good mum - she let me nap on it for an hour, then she hung it on the line to let it dry.
