This beautiful boy is Bob from the wonderful Bob and Sophies French Adventure Blog, which mum loved to read every night.  Bob and his sister Sophie shared their walks in the French countryside as well as views of the pastries on offer at the French bakeries they went to each day.  They loved to chase the cats in their garden, even though they never managed to catch one.

So our friend Bob got rather sick last week, and even though the Vets worked hard, it was his time to head to the bridge.  So mum cried more tears when she read the posts about his passing, and this afternoon when she was walking home, her eyes started leaking .  She did feel better coming home and seeing me, and I got a big cuddle (which I did not enjoy), and a few extra treats.  More tears tonight when she read the post about his Vets last visit.  For all of its sadness there is some beauty in the kindness of their French friends, such a beautiful post to honor Bob.

  1. Ah! Bless! You know Poppy!x Mums not the
only one to shed a tear, over the years,
lots of pussy~cats and dogs have gone over
the bridge..! :(. On Blogs l follow, and
although l've never met a certain cat or
dog..l sit here and shed a tear, when l
    read of a passing..
And Bob, looks quite a character, you can
    tell by his face..Bless him!x

  2. Poppy please thank mum for posting that blog. How I wish I had known him in happy times when he was alive. I can understand Mums sorrow. Try to put up with lots of cuddles as she really needs you right now.

  3. I am so terribly sorry that Bob had to leave for the Bridge. Sending his family, and your mum, lots of Light and hugs.

  4. Thanks for this post. We loved Bob dearly.
    Best wishes,
    Gail and Bertie.

  5. Poppy, your mum is so fortunate to have you to cuddle during sad times. Us people are
sometimes hard to understand, but I know you will take a few extra hugs to help out.
Precious often gives me a dirty look for loves but puts up with it. It is never easy
to learn of a pet that passes over the bridge.

  6. I think Bob's passing touched a lot of people around the world. I certainly shed a tear or two. He will be missed. It was really nice of you to do this post. Regards Liz in Wanganui.

  7. we are very sorry poppy Q to learn about your friend Bob; Godspeed his journey to heaven ♥♥♥♥♥

  8. It's always sad when a friend leaves, even if he is a long-distance friend. Godspeed, Bob.
