Film Festival

Last night's sky was pretty, but the wind has dragged in clouds and made it muggy today.

So mum decided to have a little film festival.  Yesterday she went and saw A Star is Born.  She knew the story, but didn't have any great expectations for it.  However within a few minutes of it starting she was loving it.  It was a smart story of love, if watching one star rising while the other falls apart and mum thought was done so well.  Both Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper were amazing, and mum loved the whole natural style of the movie.  No cheesiness or trying to be funny, just pure heart breaking drama.  5/5

Today the weather was wilder and mum was glad to be at another movie theatre.  She saw Bohemian Rhapsody which was another couple if hours of awesomeness.  The story mainly of Freddie Mercury it was a bit of a sanitized version of his life, but it did manage to capture the shy and vulnerable side if him, seen away from the public. 

The music did bring tears to mum's eyes several times, and even though some if the movie felt a bit awkward in the middle scenes, mum was impressed.  Best on a big screen with the volume up high she says it is another 5/5.

So she is back home and trolling through The Handmaids Tale season 2.  I am glad to have her home.

Wordless Wednesday

Shady Lady

I came and lay outside next to mum while she read her book in the sun this afternoon.  She was catching some rays and vitamin Ds.  I prefer to lie in the cool spots.

Humid Jungle

It was a hot and humid start to our week.  I spent the afternoon out in the jungle.  It is my 1-4pm sleeping spot.

Napper

Mum went and got herself out for a walk this afternoon, to get some fresh air and some groceries.  She went a shop to buy a new grill pan and came out with a new paring knife, some cutlery, 2 pillowcases and a new brush/pan set. 

When she got home she said I was very cute having my nap.  So she joined me.  Then I woke her up for my dinner.  Mum then made a chicken salad for her dinner.  Best of all there is enough for her lunch tomorrow. 

We hope you all got some good sleeps today too.

Market

Mum thinks that there may be a market for making comfy cat beds - polar fleece cosy on one side and frankly cool plastic on the other side (in better colours and designs than my bag).  What do you think??

Summers Day

You guys found me in yesterday's photos.  Mum found me out there again today.  I did come in inbetween times for a little 10 hour nap.

Today was a beautiful hot summer day.  Mum went out for a walk and met a friend for a tasty lunch.  it feels like summer has arrived .

So we thought you would like these photos of our bright sunny garden especially our northern hemisphere friends.

Dusk

At dawn and dusk pussy cats like to be outside, for a bit of socializing and watching over their properties.  Can you see the next door neighbour tabby cat?  Can you see me?  I'm only in one shot carefully hidden.

Laziness

Us girls are just chilling with some holiday laziness.  It was lovely and warm so mum cleaned the windows and pottered about.  I watched and meowed.  Job done.

Hello 2019

Can you see me?  I am clever at hiding and spying on intruder cats.  Welcome to 2019 - we hope it brings you all health and happiness.

Mum slept in this morning again.  Gosh she's enjoying catching up on her sleep.  it feels like she is making up for all of the rubbish night's if rest she has had during the year.

It was HOT today - I sat in my garden nest for the afternoon.  Mum went for a walk and went to the movies to see The Favourite which she enjoyed very much.

Mum wanted to thank everyone for the nice New Years wishes.  Especially to Judy and Animal House who were brave enough to pop in and say hello.  Nice to meet you new friends.

Happy New Years Eve

Happy New Years Eve to all of our friends.  Mum will raise a glass to you all at midnight to toast your health and happiness for 2019.

Tonight we are reliving the fine year of 1987 with first Moonstruck and then Dirty Dancing!!!

Approval

Mum put some fresh linen on the bed to have a fresh change as the New Year approaches.  I have it my approval by falling fast asleep as soon as the bed was made.

Snippets

We had snippets of sunshine today.  Washing was done - mum lives having it dry outside.  Mum's bruised leg was sore yesterday and today, so mum stayed home to rest it.  So I helped her relax and it was the first day of no alarm clocks.

Break

Mum made it to 4.30pm and is so happy that now she is on a bit of a summer break.  No uniforms and no alarm clicks.  Yippee!!!

Present

Mum gave herself a you've worked too hard this month Christmas present.  She liked the look of this pink gin.  She couldn't have any tonight as she is on Call, but she will be ready tomorrow evening.

She finished work early and braved the crowds in town to look at a shops but the things she looked at weren't right.  So she took a walk, and got some noodles for dinner popped into the bottle store and then came home to be with me.

Glimpse

We finally got a glimpse of sunshine this afternoon, and mum rushed out and put washing on the line after days of rain.  She did some housework this evening  before a big meal of Christmas leftovers - yumm.

Mum worked again today on Boxing Day which is a public holiday today.  Two more days of work and then mum gets to relax.   

Mum got a big bruise on her leg and doesn't remember how she got it.  Probably from running into something at work.  That makes her feel old when things like that happen.  A glimpse of her future.

1 Sleep Til Santa

Mum got a whole 1 hour sleep last night.  Thank you last week's night shift.  Hopefully though after a busy work day her body click is a little bit reset tonight.

She made use of her early start and went to the supermarket in the morning before work to avoid the Armageddon shoppers who have to buy 20 punnett of strawberries and all the bread.

She has to work Christmas and Boxing day but come Friday 4.30pm she will be able to kick back and relax.

Quiet

We had a quiet day today.  Mum had intended to go and visit some friends at the seaside, but as she got up and got ready the rain was beginning to set in.  Mum rang her friends and said she would postpone a visit.  Her nightshift lack of sleep was catching up with her and she spent the day quietly with me.  Now it is 11pm and now she is wide awake.  She does have to work tomorrow, and normal routine will force her into sleeping again.

Just two more sleeps until Santa comes.

3 Sleeps Til Santa Caturday

Mum had a whole 2 hours sleep this morning - woop woop.  She coped with dropping books at the library, visiting a couple of shops and then fish tacos for lunch.  And then at 2pm she faded And had to head for home and a nap.

Tonight she is thinking that she is pretty tired, so sleep will come.  Alas she has noisy neighbours having a party, but it is to be expected as it is the party season.  As long as they pack up by 1am.  So mum is blinked in the couch watching Breathe and eating a bowl of summer raspberries.

Me well I was glad to have a nap with her tiredness and will be glad to be back into a routine again.
