Film Festival

Last night's sky was pretty, but the wind has dragged in clouds and made it muggy today.

So mum decided to have a little film festival.  Yesterday she went and saw A Star is Born.  She knew the story, but didn't have any great expectations for it.  However within a few minutes of it starting she was loving it.  It was a smart story of love, if watching one star rising while the other falls apart and mum thought was done so well.  Both Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper were amazing, and mum loved the whole natural style of the movie.  No cheesiness or trying to be funny, just pure heart breaking drama.  5/5

Today the weather was wilder and mum was glad to be at another movie theatre.  She saw Bohemian Rhapsody which was another couple if hours of awesomeness.  The story mainly of Freddie Mercury it was a bit of a sanitized version of his life, but it did manage to capture the shy and vulnerable side if him, seen away from the public.

The music did bring tears to mum's eyes several times, and even though some if the movie felt a bit awkward in the middle scenes, mum was impressed.  Best on a big screen with the volume up high she says it is another 5/5.

So she is back home and trolling through The Handmaids Tale season 2.  I am glad to have her home.

  1. It's no secret Poppy!x I~LOVE~LADY~GAGA..!
I've got ALL her music and a 2019 calendar
of her in the kitchen..She's great! :).
As for Mercury..No! Not for me..don't like
him or his music..! HeHe! "Nuff Said"....!

Just got back from town..Brrrrr! Bit nippy..
But it's dry again to~day, and the suns out
a little bit..! So..l'm off to make a lemon
tea, just to warm up a bit..! :).

  2. That sounds like a great day for your mum, Poppy. We're sure you WERE quite happy to have her home, though! Take care.

  3. ok I will go see A Star is Born on the big screen after you 5/5. We are booked to see Bohemian Rhapsody and I'm looking forward to it. Went ans saw Mary Poppins Returns, I fell asleep - it was just ok, lacked something - I think catchy songs and Mary Poppins was far too stern.

  4. Hi Poppy Q! It's been a long time since I've said hello. Tommy and Teaghan are working on a new blog for them finally. In the mean time we are still posting as Beau Beau and Angie. It's lovely to see pics of you and your sunny warm world :-) . Purrrrrs!

  5. Mum did Bohemian Rhapsody, agrees best in theater at full volume.

  6. Has your mum seen any of the other three versions of "A Star is Born"? I've seen two; I'd be interested in comparing them.
