Friends have been asking how my eyes are. They have improved in the past week, the goobers are gone and I have stopped sneezing, so mum is pretty sure I just had more cold/flu. She says my behaviours are back to normal and I am talking to mum as usual, so she knows I feel better.
The vets have been ringing saying mum has to bring me in for a checkup again. Mum knows she has to do it, but she knows that I am back to normal, and that is what they are going to say. It is not really an issue of money, although mum knows that is a little bit of what is bothering her. I guess she is thinking of me, as she knows that the vets visits wind me up, and make me a bit grumpity.
Mum is much happier that I am happier.

I'm HAPPY, SUPER HAPPY TOO : )
ReplyDeleteand Miss Poppy, Your mom took a really good photo of you. Even Me, I can see your eyes are back to normal before I even read !
And Don't worry, My pawrents are the same. When I get better from whatever it is, No more seeing the VET. and it seems my VET know, They just ring and ask but I don't need to see the doctor if I'm well. I don't want to see them too ( I got 2 doctors ) They always put me on DIET !
xox
PS : I'm still on Diet. The doctors said I have to down to 6 Kg. Now I'm about 7.4 - 8 Kg. ( I don't know what's wrong with my diet. It goes no where ..tee..heh )
Glad Poppy Q is better! If she has no discharge, or sneezing, eating and acting normal I'd wait a few days too before going to see the vet.

Poppy, I totally understand - my human hates taking me to the vet too because it upsets me and stresses me out so much.
ReplyDeleteWe're happy that you're happy too! So glad you're feeling better!
ReplyDeleteVery goood news that you are feeling better, Poppy. If it makes your Mum feel any better about not taking you, remember you can always pick up NEW germs at the Vet.
ReplyDeleteWe are glad your eyes are better again Poppy and that you are feeling well again. Our vet just says to come back if we are still not right and to ring and let them know if we are okay. No point going back when your mum can see you are okay, and the vet is just going to say exactly the same thing.
ReplyDeleteWe're all glad your eyes are much better now, Poppy.
ReplyDeleteI'd wait on the return to the vet, can't see how it's necessary if all is fine. A simple phone call stating that, and that you'll bring her back in if that changes, should suffice, IMO.
I am glad to read about your eyes, Poppy Q. Yes, it's always a dilemma about bringing a beloved pet in for a check-up. I am doing that for my oldest, next week, because I have specific concerns, and because she is old. But with the others, the previous examinations were so cursory (over in five or six minutes) and the cost so high ($60 a cat) that I don't feel the price is worth the job done. It's a tough decision to make, but a human who cares for his or her pet can usually tell when something needs medical attention.
ReplyDeleteHooray for healing! I know what you mean about bringing them in and having to pay to be told what you already know! I usually don't bring them if I'm sure and especially if I know they'll be charging me again. Why don't vet's fees include the well-care follow-up?!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day ladies!
We're sorry to hear you weren't feeling good, Poppy....but very happy to hear you're back to normal. I'm sure your mom doesn't want to make you go through another vet visit if you don't have to.
ReplyDeleteI don't blame her.

ReplyDeleteWe are glad that your eyes seem to be doing better!
ReplyDeleteWe think the vet is concerned because your eyes looked healed at first and then when they sent you home the nasty eye problem started up again. The vet just wants to be sure it doesn't flare up for a third time. Does your vet look at your eyes in a way your mum can't?
ReplyDeleteWhat ever you choose to do, we are so pleased you are feeling better.
We are happy that you are happy and healthy again.
ReplyDeleteYour Mon knows what is best for you!
ReplyDeleteOh Poppy,
ReplyDeleteI get grumpity too going to the vet's. I am happy that you are well again.

Oh your eyes look wonderful and so do you. We agree with your mum. Tell your mum to tell the vet that she'll bring you back if she sees any more problems. You shouldn't have to endure that trauma yet again. Purrs and hugs, the kitties at www.thecatonmyhead.com, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
