This photo was on the front of the paper today. A pod of 12 orcas swimming right up to the harbour of small town Picton. Mum learnt that there are about 200 orcas living in NZ waters , that they can live up to 100 years old and it is illegal to get to close to them.
Oh! What a lovely picture Poppy!x
ReplyDeleteYes! They are lovely animals..and it's
nice to see that most countries have
banned them from being kept in amusement
parks, and in large tanks..for people
to ogle at..terrible thing to do, to
a creature of that size..! :(.
How absolutely amazing. I would love to see whales or dolphins in an ocean. I live too far inland and I'd have to count on seeing just beautiful photos like this one.
ReplyDeleteIf it’s illegal to get close to them, who took the photograph? It’s a marvellous picture, in any case.
ReplyDeleteThat was lovely to see those whales. When we were in Alaska we saw a large pod from the ship, and it was lovely to watch them.
