Caturday

Last week Caturday was warm enough to get the sheets dried outside but not today.  A southerly blew into town during the temperature to a cool 7 degrees with a biting wind and some heavy rain. 

Mum snuck out to catch up with a friend for lunch and to watch a movie, but was glad to head home early and be back by 5pm to pull the curtains and crank up the heater.  She fed the birdies before she left so that gave me something to watch.  Life is pretty simple for us here over the winter with not much happening but quiet hibernating.

Relaxing

I'm relaxing on the bed.  Mum would like to tidy the bed but as I look comfy she will leave it for a bit longer. 

We are grateful that the weekend is about to begin.  Mum has jobs to do and some fun stuff too.  Yippee!!

Herrow

Herrow mum - glad you made it home.  This is my little food cupboard housing all of my fancy feast in case you has forgotten.  Mum had a terrible time sleeping last night.  She was cold, then she was hot, then she was super hot and tossed off the covers and slept with a light quilt, then the rain woke her up, then she was cold.  Finally she fell asleep and this morning she did get up in time to head off to work.

I spent most of the night sitting in the living room watching the rain outside, before heading off to the bedroom just as mum was leaving it.  Like ships in the night.

Wordless Wednesday

Tuesdaying

Mum got some pictures of me this morning before she left for work.  I ignored her and watched the birdies instead.

She is a bit tired as she got called in twice last night and only got to bed at 5.30am.  That could be why she got half way home before realizing that she had left her phone at work.  so she had to double back to pick up.  Four bus trips later and she was finally heading home.  Luckily it only cost $1.70. 

It could also be why she tripped over the heater tonight and bruised her foot.  So she is going to give up and head to bed. 

Blue Skies

Mum enjoyed her walk beside the beach at the weekend.  The blue skies were lovely and it wasn't too cold.  Global warming has brought us much milder winters than in years past. we have not had any 'need gloves' days yet and mum has worn her woollie hat only once.

Luckily I already have a permanent woollie cosy on.

Snoozer

Sorry we missed Caturday.  The Munster was busy pottering around and all of a sudden she realized that it was after midnight and she forgot her secretarial duties.  Good job I can't afford to fire her.

She did make me happy by letting me nap on the duvet before she covered it up with our winter quilts.

We have had a beautiful week.  Frosty nights but warm sunny days but we have been warned that we are due a rainy week.

Mum took herself to the cinema today to see Yesterday - a feel good sweet movie that she did enjoy.    Now she is ready to curl up with me and her book.  Sweet dreams friends.

Friday Night Movie - Check Out Boomer

Um I don't think I will be taking up this sport anytime soon as I don't like water like the amazing Boomer.  What a brave kitty.

Enjoy

You go out and enjoy your day off mum.  I'm gonna stay warm and snuggly here.  Mum took herself out to lunch at a cafe - a tasty sandwich and fruit smoothie.  A big walk in the winter sun and some window shopping. 

Then she went and saw a movie called Wild Rose at the cinema and had a walk home to catch up with me.  Good work mum. 

Good

Mum it is good that you are home from the library at 3pm.  Is it dinnertime?

Mum says NO.  So she went outside and cleaned the bedroom windows while I stayed inside and sulked.

Weekend Camper

While mum has worked the weekend I am camped out in my corner.  I have a heated bed and a heater on - it is winter here.  And a big bowl of biscuits. The water bowl is in the living room.  Life is good for this old girl. 

Mum meantime donned her woollie hst for the first time this year as it was raining on the way to work.  This is her last evening shift this week.  She will be glad to sleep in on her two days off as she is a bit tired.

Caturday

It is Caturday afternoon and I am sending mum off to work again.  She spent the morning sleeping in and then thought she should tackle a couple of bits of housework.  Scrubbing the toilet and hoovering were awesome.  I did not help.

The fun things were that she got to relax and read her book and cooked some sausage rolls for her lunch - lucky the hoover was out as the pastry flaked everywhere.  She is going to try and enjoy her walk to work, before being shut inside for 8 hours.

Friday Night Movie

Mum has to work tonight so has to leave me alone for the evening.  I wanted to share with you this movie of Kuli, the amazing one eyed surfer cat.   Don't worry you won't be seeing me out on the waves.

Reminder

We need a reminder of warm summery days with the windows open and the breeze blowing in.  It is feeling wintry here at the moment and we are glad that the shortest day is coming up.  We shouldn't complain, as it is rather mild here where we live.  We have only ever had a sprinkling of snow here in the last 25 years, and this winter has been rather mild.

Mums body is better suited to winter clothing and she enjoys wearing a big cardigan and boots,  mum enjoys comfort food and it is nice to hibernate and snuggle down in bed with some books and a warm furry cat to cuddle with.  I love having my electric blanket on and a heater to snuggle next too. 

We hope if you live somewhere cold tonight you are warm and cozy and if you live north of the equator and are toasty warm - please enjoy your sunshine and warm summer breezes for us.

Silly Mum

Mum was a bit tired after work, and with an armful of groceries got into the wrong bus heading in the wrong direction to home.  She got off at the next stop and was quickly able to find the correct way home.

it is chilly here tonight and feels like winter.  I am tucked up in my bed and mum is tucked up in hers .  the heating is on although our old house is cold - no central heating here.  Brrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

Tired

There was the sounds of vomiting and other stuff this morning at 02 30am and it wasn't me.  Mums dinner that she was do proud of, was not so fond of her.  Luckily she got a bit of a warning and it only lasted an hour.  I guess all the leftovers are getting binned now.

We were both tired today and mum canceled her plans as she was not quite right.  The toast has stayed down and it will be back to normal by Tuesday. 

It was getting chilly this afternoon but I insisted on sitting on the barbecue table while mum fed the birdies again. 

Sunday

Mum was thinking about going out today as the sun was shining, however she decided that tomorrow would be her day out in town.  So she slowed  down and spent the day with me.  She washed the towels, did the dishes, and did a few more chores.  A home day is always a bonus.

Mum made herself some lemon garlicky pasta for dinner.  She dished out some feast for me and some treats later on.  How lucky am I?

Caturday

Well mum was up before the sun this morning and was at work by 7am, but not too tired even with 6 hours sleep.  I could never cope.  It is a solid 23 for me.

She got home by 4pm and has been relaxing since, but the clock says it is almost 8pm and she is now flagging.  She might be heading off to bed soon.

2 days off now - let our weekend begin!

Late

Mum you got home late again.  I'm busy waiting for my feast.  Mum has had 3 late shifts, and now has an early one at 7am.  Then 2 days off- yippee!

Tuesday Movie - The Secret Life Of Pets - Best of Chloe

Have you seen The Secret Life of Pets.  Mum says that Chloe looks pretty similar to me and has quite a few of the same mannerisms.  I'm not saying anything.

Neighborly

Mum got joined on her Sunday walk by a couple of neighborly cats who were very friendly.  And no she did not bring them home to meet me.

Winter Weekending

 Sorry friends, mum got all carried away and forgot about posting on Caturday.  She had a day pottering about, then napping then out for the evening with work colleagues for Asian fusion food (double the price , but 1/2 the flavour).  Only one cocktail though so no hangover this morning for mum.

This morning she was up early and went to the movies to see Rocketman, which was quite fun and she enjoyed it more than she expected to.  Then off to the market for the weeks vegetables - cauliflower, onions, cabbage, pumpkin, leek, swede, parsnips and carrots. 

Then a big walk round the waterfront.  It was rather chilly, so not as crowded as usual.  The clouds were gathering so mum was glad to head home for soup and toast.

I have had a quiet weekend snoozing and eating.  I am glad that I got mum to relax.  This week is a long one with mum having a 6 day work week.  Phew!! 

Preparation

I'm sharpening my claws and getting ready for the weekend.

Thursday

I sent mum off to work with a big goodbye.  She always talks to me as she leaves and tells me about her day, and tells me to be a good girl and that she will be home soon.

As soon as she is back, she calls out hello and comes and talks to me about what happened on her day.  I tell her about sleeping, eating and sleeping.  Oh and can I have my feast now?
