Hats Off to you if you live somewhere cold over winter. Hats off to our friends in Canada, the US, the UK, Sweden and all the chilly climates. We hope that you are basking in glorious sunshine now and enjoying your summer. We hope you are sipping Cocktails in your summer clothes, getting your feet out in the sun, swimming in the sea and enjoying your long days. You see we have had Antarctic chills here this week, that have bought snow to much of NZ and we are not enjoying it. We know we have little to complain about, last weekend we could hang our washing on the line and get it dry, so this too will pass. Mums alarm went off at 6am, and she rolled over and luckily woke up at 7.30am, as she had to be at work at 8am and luckily made it just in time.
So we will be glad for the weekend and some time to relax and catch up on lost sleeps. Tonight mum is definitely off to bed early to keep herself warm and toasty. I am in my number one position - exactly where I am in the photo, on the grey merino blankie at the end of the bed.
Smoochies.

Ah! Bless you Poppy!x
ReplyDeleteAnd, yes we're having all that over here in the UK...
I've just come in from cutting the privit at the top of
the garden..finish the rest off..tomorrow! Phew!
So! I'm off for a well earn't cup of lemon tea, and a sticky
bun....mmmmM!
We don't imagine you're enjoying the chill at all, Poppy. Everything is relative. We're used to freezing our furs off for 5 - 6 months of the year, and though we don't like it at all, we have the resources to cope. It's different when you live in a climate that's unaccustomed to that kind of cold and snow. So stay bundled up and snuggled up and keep warm!
ReplyDeleteMust be awful for you when the resources for dealing with very cold weather aren't at hand. Most of the time it must be a total blessing living in NZ.
ReplyDeleteYou do look comfy warm there on the bed, Poppy. We haven't had much of a summer in Chicago so far this summer. Been cool and wet.
ReplyDeleteWe don't get snow here - and I am kind of glad we don't!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice Thursday Poppy!
ReplyDeleteIt's very warm here in southern Alberta right now, but it will indeed grow cold come December and January. Well, people are literally making hay while the sun shines!

Mum just gets tired of the snow in the winter. Not seeing the ground for 2-3 months. Cold you can dress for or stay inside if needed.
ReplyDeleteCold here in Adelaide too, Poppy. Rug up and keep warm.
ReplyDeleteEven though it meant your mum had to rush, the extra hour and half of sleep must have been needed and I hope she felt better for it. The hot weather has returned again and I am lying outdoors wherever I can find shade and a breeze.
ReplyDeleteOur artic blast has just begun. And yes we are very lucky that our winters as so mild. You should hear the complaining around here! Stay warm and enjoy being home with your mum xx
