Rain
Its been raining off and on all day today. Luckily the little tomato that are sneaking between gaps in the fence will not need watering and might be ripe by the weekend.
Mum got the pfizer vaccine yesterday. She feels fine today, her arm still aches liked she's been punched but that's it. Today mum decided to stay home with me and did some dishes and hovered. Book reading and TV watching was all she felt like doing today.
Me - well I got up at 11am. Begged for dinner at 3pm and back to bed by 4pm.

Day Off
After a sunny weekend, mums day off was rainy. Still she got herself a sleep in and then got herself up and ready as it was an important day. She got ger first covid vaccine. It was nice and quick and she caught up with some colleagues before and after. Her arm is a little sore tonight so she has taken an ibuprofen. She'll have an early night as she is tired after a few shifts, her body clock is a bit out of whack.

In and Out
I'm lucky and have my own private entrance to our house, and can command go as I please. Most kiwi cats have our own cat doors. How lucky are we?

Monday
Mum and I are glad that Monday has rolled around. Mum has a 7 day working stretch ahead. The good thing is that she will have 2 days off to relax next week. Mum made corned beef with mashed potatoes and cabbage for dinner last night, with plenty of leftovers although all that cabbage has made her somewhat gassy. Mum thinks it is brave that I am sleeping on her bed tonight- very brave.

Me?
Mum went for her walk this afternoon and popped into a couple of shops on her way home. She found this cushion which made her laugh real hard. What do you think? Should she go back and buy one ?

Knackered
Mum is knackered today. A late night was a bit brutal for her today and as the afternoon crept by she felt more and more tired. She wishes she could have napped the day away like me.

Crowded House.
Tonight mum got to have a big night out with friends. Pizza and drinks and then off to see Crowded House in concert. They were awesome and everyone enjoyed a good dance and sing along. She hopes you enjoy the short video she took. We're off to bed for a cuddle and snooze now.

Washing Inspector
For one person mim sure does like to do lots of washing. She tells me she is trying to enjoy the last few weeks of washing being able to dry outside before the winter arrives.

Parcels
Mum did fun stuff on her day off like scrubbing the toilet and the rubbish bin. She packed some parcels to return to the online shops but then couldn't find her fitbit. Luckily she realized that she had gathered it up into the parcel before she took it to the post office. Maybe she should have left it as the kms would have increased this weeks average. She did enjoy the 8am wake up and the morning snuggle with me.

Thursday
It's Thursday but feels like Friday as mums weekend began this afternoon. She is going to switch the 6am alarm clock off and treat herself to some fun things to do. Me - well its business as usual. I've got snoozing and staring out the window to do.

Bathrooming
I often join my mother in the bedroom to keep her company. Living by herself she seldom has to close the door.

Dahlia
Mum found this beautiful purple dahlia on the way home this afternoon. She saw an article on the news at the weekend of some trials they are doing that suggest some supplement made of dahlia extract may be able to reverse diabetes.
It's 8.30pm and dark outside and getting cooler. The seasons are changing, which is good news for our northern hemisphere friends. We're going to miss the sunshine. Mum loves sandal weather and is thinking it may be time to pull the slippers out.

Sundaying
After finishing at 8pm last night, going to bed at 11pm, up at 5.30am, at work at 7am and finished at 3pm mum got a subway sandwich which she ate by 4pm and was napping with me on the bed by 5pm. Now a few hours together this evening and it's approaching 9.30pm and time for heading to bed. I'm on the bed already mum.

Changing
How to tell you the seasons changing without telling you the seasons changing. Mum has noticed that I've been spending time back on her bed, snuggling next to her. She particularly enjoyed when I came and woke her up at 2.30am to tell her it was raining outside. I did this by rubbing my wet furs on her arm - she loved it.

Quakes
Mum didn't feel any if the 3 big quakes that were felt in NZ today. They were all off the coast a long way north of us. The expectation is that there will be aftershocks to come, so mum might make sure that the emergency bag is packed and close by. She'll make sure there are my cans of feast and a shopping bag for me to sleep on inside.

Day Off
Mum got herself a day of work today and she enjoyed it a lot. Housework to begin the day was satisfying, dushes and washing all done before she headed off to lunch with a bestie. Lunch was simple but tasty, a fresh pineapple/apple/spinach juice and a ham and cheese toasting with gerkins and always made more enjoyable when it was followed by some shopping, although mum didn't buy anything.
By the time mum got home she was glad to put her feet up and read her book for a while with me. If course I was asking for my dinner by 2. 45pm - a bit early mum said. She gave in though and let me have my feast at 3pm so she got some quiet time (she means nap time really).

The afternoon sun sent some lovely light into the bedroom, so mum took some snapshots of me snoozing.

Vaccination
We got asked about vaccination for Covid in NZ. So far border workers have begun to be vaccinated and soon will be Frontline health workers which should include mum as she works the hospital. To be fair, as we do not have a lot of Covid here and mum is happy that we wait our turn. The vaccine should be going to people in communities most at risk.
Mum gets asthma and some bad respiratory infections, so she will be happy to line up to get her vaccination.
