Waiting for Santa

Services are returning to normal at chez Q.  Mum is feeling somewhat better now, although her cough is still loud and she is tired her headaches and fever have gone.  She still has a few days if antibiotics left.  She made a warm salmon salad for dinner which she could taste and it was good to have a pile of vegetables.

Me - well I'm busy waiting for Santa.  1 more sleep and he comes through the cat door to leave our presents.

Wordless Caturday

Online Browsing

We guess it is getting a little too late to order anything to get in time for Christmas, but mum still likes browsing.  She found these last night on and American website Modcloth.  They made her smile.  Hours at home have meant quite a bit of online browsing.  She is wary of buying anything this week as in 72 hours she imagines everything will be cheaper.  Still it is fun looking and a good way to fill in an hour or so sitting on the couch. 

Thanks

Mum says thanks for the well wishes.  She think the antibiotics are beginning to help and she thinks that her temperature is dropping.  She had to ring her boss today to let her know that she was going to be off and she doesn't have to be back now until weds night.  So a few more days to rest up.

She didn't realize that many if you hadn't heard if a lurgy.  Mum had been using that term her whole life.

Lurgy

Mum took herself off to the dr today, as she knew this lurgy was still building up.The dr was very nice and agreed that mum was poorly.  Mum did worry though as she asked if mum always looked so tired and puffy or was it because she was sick - mum thinks this is just how she looks all the time!  So now she is on antibiotics and has been told to stay in bed until Christmas Day.  So I am busy looking after her and  have been making sure she keeps up her fluids and takes lots of naps.

Nurse Poppy

I have been helping to nurse my mum as she is a bit poorly with the lurgy.  She has had no luck this year with catching bugs and is annoyed to get one in the middle of summer.  She was meant to work this evening but had to call in sick as she felt so bad and has spent the day in and out of bed.  She has been hot and cold so been under and on top of the covers, so I have been camping on the couch overnight to avoid being kicked off the bed by her tossing and turning.  She has drunk lots of fluid and managed a little bit to eat.  She is a bit worried about this bug, it feels like a tough one to overcome and she is meant to be working evening shifts and then some nightshift over Christmas - so the worst time of the year for her to be sick.

She did use her day off to try internet supermarket shopping which was rather easy, and ordered it all by 11am and it was outside the door at 2pm.  She did buy herself 2 large boxes of tissues, fruit juice and lots of other stuff to keep her occupied.  She also ordered 40 cans of fancy feast - I love you mum.

Grrr

Grrr mum went to bed early last night as she felt a bit off.  This morning she woke up with a cold.  Just as she starts a long tough stretch on the roster.  Grrrrr.

Foof

This was only about 1/2 the foof that mum managed to brush off me today.  It has been super hot so mum has been chasing me round with the grooming brush - which by the way I do not like.

Mum got herself out for a seaside walk which was nice.  The clouds are gathering outside, which is good as our wee garden is parched.

So our evening is drawing to a close and mum has parked herself on the couch with a cold glass of water and some sweet raspberries.

Hidey Hole Caturday

I have a little hidey hole spot out in the garden where I can rest hidden away.  I showed it to my mum though so she knows where I am.  It is getting too hot to be out there though.

Mum stayed at home and just chilled out with me - perfect.

Quiet

Us girls are having a quiet one tonight as we are very tired.  Thanks for all the comments on out last post and the pictures if houses in our neighborhood.   We don't live in any if those houses.  Ours is not very cute from the outside but is nice enough for us.  This is a catch up weekend for us.  Chores and sleep one are what mum has planned.

Neighborhood Style

Mum took these pictures on the walk home tonight at 9pm.  She had gone with her friends to see the new Star Wars movie.  Our suburb is fully if these small villas and houses built around 1890-1915.  Luckily lots have been restored and done up and are now quite expensive. 

Wordless Wednesday - Neighborly

Toesday

Ha mum was doing the kitchen tidy up thing tonight and dropped the mustard jar on the tile floor.  It shattered and put mustard all over her sandal and toes.  So now a huge tidy up and a good foot scrub.  So time to finish the dishes and then a slice of cold watermelon for her.

Munster Monday

Mum had a chilled out Munster Monday today.  After a steady weekend if working she was glad to be able to sleep in with me.  As the day was sunny, she loaded up the washing machine and washing line.

She then went and did a couple of chores that she needed to get done.  Off to the supermarket and library then last stop was at the hairdressers to get her grey's fixed up.  She took this photo of the inside if the hairdressers where they have a big table to chill out at and read or like mum - watch Netflix on her phone.

Now home for dinner and time for us girls to chill out and relax.  Mum has lit candles, put a face mask on herself, started a movie and opened a packet of chocolate chip cookies to start on.  Good girl mum.

Tired

Mum has spent around 24 hours at work in the past day or so and is ready to curl up on the bed with me.

Caturday

Mum has been busy working today.   Not much time to stop and smell the flowers.  Me - well I just relaxed.

Late

Mum got home late from work tonight.   She had a good day and there were drinks and bubbles at a colleagues house afterwards which was lovely.  So my dinner and treats were pretty close together tonight which I didn't mind too much.

It is a bit cooler tonight which will be better for middle aged mumsters sleep.  She has been sleeping with a window open.  No one can sneak in so mum feels safe.  She is going to look for a fan next week as it is going to be a long hot summer.

I have been sleeping on the couch to keep cool and mum tends to toss and turn in the heat disturbing my sleeps.  We do love summer - mum has been wearing sandals every day and has even unpacked her shorts.

Out Walking

When mum was out walking she spied all these pigeons just sitting down chilling.  Maybe they were waiting for snack time?  Personally I like my treats at 9.30pm.

Wordless Wednesday

Session

Mum gave me a photo session at the weekend.  I just closed my eyes and stayed asleep.  It has been very warm - perfect for napping and just chilling out.  She loves photos of me snoozing - especially of that soft spot on my forehead.

Neighborhood Watch

Mum was out early in the morning and came across this cutie out in the front garden of their house.  Black and white tuxie cats are not so common here, and this one was especially sweet needing a pat and a rub from my mum.

Chilling

I sent mum off to the local school fair.  Her friends and her meet up and wander round together.  They have been going for over 20+ years.  Today the did not buy much however as  there wasn't much that appealed to them.  Mum got some new undies and some olive oil.

I like her leather bag but I am not usually allowed to touch it as I normally scrat h it.  This time I was really gentle and just laid down gentle.  It was a pity she had to take the bag with her.

Home Caturday

Today I kept Munster home all day with me.  I made her sleep in and have a lazy day at home.  She did get the washing out on the line, she vacuumed the carpets, did some cooking, changed the beds, watered the garden, put a face mask on and relaxed.

Me - well I slept inside, I slept outside, I sat on the windowsill, I sat on the carpet, I ate biscuits, I drank water, I ate fancy feast, I ate some bugs and I ate treats.  Yum yum.

Hots

It's been a bit hot here lately and so to stay away from mum who radiates heat - I camp out on the couch some nights.  It was a nice 25 deg c this afternoon, weather we don't usually see until January.

Mum was glad to get home after work and drop the bags and jumped on the bed and stretched out and took a nap next to me.  Bliss.
